Help Failed to load My Maps after password change

alostpacket

Over Macho Grande?
Hey all, it seems changing my Gmail password has done something weird to my maps.

In the regular "maps" application I can't load any of my saved Google maps. It just says loading... then "Failed to Load My Maps" with no recourse given :( The new password works fine in other applications (GMail, etc.). And the maps are able to be downloaded and viewed just fine by the "My Maps editor by Google" app. So I'm really not sure what the problem is, other than it being some obscure bug with the default Maps app.

I have tried the following with no luck so far:

- reset my password to the old one
- uninstalled updates and reset password to old one
- uninstalled updates and tried the new password

Nothing seems to help, just can't get my maps back. I'm getting ready to do a factory reset as this is a pretty important feature to have not work. But, any thoughts or anyone having this problem as well?

Ran into the same problem. Simply uninstalled and reinstalled the updates for Google Maps. Next time I tried to load My Maps, it relogged in with my new credentials.

I am having the same problem. Shortly, over a couple of weeks I can no longer load up or access My Maps (GoogleMaps) on my Droid. This is one of the selling features of this phone for me. Do I have to do a factory reset or can I just uninstall and then reinstall GoogleMaps for this rectify itself?

Go into Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > Maps and click "Uninstall Updates". Then go into the Market and download the latest updates for Google Maps. If this doesn't fix your problem, you'll most likely have to do a factory reset.
