Root "Failed to push recovery"

I am looking around to see why this happened..... ANYONE got any ideas.

Followed the instructions in: http://androidforums.com/incredible...d-3-rooting-stock-incredible-evo-2-2-a-4.html

When I went to root..... it said "Failed to push recovery. Terminating"

I took a while to finally decide to root.... and now I cant...... anyone got suggetions

Yeah, sorry. I actually had an older version of HTC Sync on my computer. I had already removed the newer version as the instructions said to, but the older one was still on the computer.

Uninstalled...... went through instructions...... root.

Thanks man! I just ran into this problem, didn't even remember having HTC sync installed, turned out it totally is! getting rid of it now.
