Root Farewell My Ascender Friends

Bought the LG Esteem this morning. The Ascend has been a little trooper thru all the flashing and modding I did to it, I even attempted to brick it on purpose by flashing roms for HTC, LG and other phones but the little guy just wouldnt die.

For any newbies to the Ascend forum, this is the best most helpful forum on this site. Not only will people answer your questions and not be an ass about it but some if not most will actually test things that you arent to sure of or havent heard of.

To all the great people in this forum and all the great helpers, Nutmegg (Im joining you over in Esteem bro!) Koolio, Scur, Gmash, Kevin, Iriv, and theres a couple others and especially last but not least The man, the legend PlayFulGod, I thank you all for all the fun, the testing, the figuring out, and of course for PG the building of CM7.

I'll still be around and will still probably be on this forum alot, even tho Ill be playing with this beast of a phone they call the Esteem, but since Ive been here for 5 months or so I figured I'd give thanks to the wonderful people here and a "official" farewell to the community and my paper weight.....I mean Ascend. ;):cool:

We are glad to hear that your dearly Ascend has served you well and have proven to be your wingman through the good and bad times. Now that your trusty partner has,, uh... 'ascended'.. Why not give it a proper "sending off" with dignity....

BlastGT1!!! you sure got THAT right! I hate to have to get forced back into the market when my 5"screen phone bites the dust.. I still havent seen anything out there that compares.

Got the esteem a few days ago.. Couldn't be happier.. Its ran everything great that i've thrown at it so far.. The ascend was a great phone for me at the time as a starter Droid with a great community to back it.. Learned a lot.. Friend of mine who always talked trash about my ascend finally had to eat his words and now i get to make fun of his iPhone cause he is hatin lol

Im guessing your post or the post you quoted had to due with stealing/pirating apps hence why he edited your post. Stealing paid apps isnt only pretty lame to rip off the dev because you dont want to spend the money but also anything to do with piracy of apps isnt allowed here because Android forums doesnt condone or encourage piracy.

ROFL. I am totally confused about the edit... Nowhere in my comment did it refer to stealing or hacking some app. My comment was out of experience after purchasimg the winmo version of an app that was not worth $14 then , before they released an android version... I dont get it...really I don't.....:eek:
 
How did this turn into a piracy thread.. supposed to be farewell little buddy ascend.. so.. instead of giving me a pirate link to test it out (to each their own.. support the devs though) lets have a review? shiny.. i trust your opinion if you've tried it.. anyone bought it? is it worth 15 bucks? it looks cool.. and no i'm not gonna edit this lol :cool:
 
Ive seen it and "used" it once. My ex had it on her phone. It was actually the default launcher when she bought the phone from a friend. Its pretty sweet, alot of work went into that home launcher. I dont want to say its not worth 15 bucks but I personally wont pay 15 bucks especially for a home launcher because I switch it up alot. Well on the Ascend I did. I bought LP+, ADW EX and the ICS+ launchers and switched it up regularly. But if its not a HAVE TO HAVE app Im not even going to fool with buying it if its over 5-7 bucks. If it was 10 bucks I'd be honest and probably buy it but 15? No Ill go buy 3 others instead of the one. Ahaha

I bought the SPB 3-D SHELL launcher yesterday,& yes, it is a bit pricey,but,it is worth it IMHO.
May be a coincidence,but,it looks a LOT like the same launcher that I spied in a video link to the HUAWEI GLORY some time ago.

Anyway,it is a VERY SMOOTH operating launcher,not a single hesitation, F/C,nada.
The graphics are real nice. Functionality speaking,no better or worse than the big 3(ADW,GO EX,LPP),but,a LOT nicer to look at.
Once home from work,I use my phone more than anything else,a heavy user,if you will.So,to me,it's worth every cent to have this on my MO PHO 4G.

I think you are thinking of the Huawei Vision (the Glory has a pretty basic launcher). After looking at them both, I have to say, if Huawei hasn't licensed this from SPB, they could be looking at a lawsuit. Ths is VERY similar to the 3D shell launcher.

Looked SPB up on WIKIPEDIA.Appears to be a licensing agreement,they've got 'em w/several manufacturers,across multiple platforms.
