Whoah! That blows away all of my expectations!!
A lot better. My girlfriend's Vibrant screen looked impressive in the midday sun compared to my Incredible's screen.
Plus, when you watch videos (that you've recorded, even) on the S-AMOLED, the color fidelity and contrast are amazing.
And I personally think 4" is the sweet spot for mobile gaming.
The droid incredible has been out for four months now. The Fascinate is not even out yet. If you're looking for the latest and greatest in mobile phone technology, there is an easy answer as to which will fulfill that need.
If you're looking for a good phone, either one oughta work. Both are android, both have roughly the same experience, both are high-end smartphones with lots of pretty colors and shapes. We can't decide for you which one you'll prefer, as there are so many factors to weigh in. Wait 'til it comes out and see which one floats your cookie.

My wife has a Dare for almost 3 years. My wife is not a phone geek at all, she could keep her Dare forever(lol). Her birthday is coming this Oct 24. I have been thinking of updating her phone. I just got an X myself. She likes it a lot. Her niece also has the Dinc and she told me she would like the Dinc. I am also considering the Fascinate which will be out by then.
So what do you all think, does the Dinc still have legs(i know it is getting 2.2 now) or go with the new Fascinate which has the bigger screen closest to my X?

The Inc, DX, and D2 are generally considered to be roughly equal. They all have their pros and cons.
The Inc usually runs the smoothest, the D2 has a physical keyboard, and the DX is friggin huge. So, it really comes down to which of those 3 things she wants the most. Also, consider that the X does not currently have 2.2 while a new Inc or D2 would come with it.

PS: I have to LOL. As soon as I opened this thread, and was typing my previous reply: A friend texted me asking if "The Incredible is still the top phone" because he is looking to upgrade

I purchased the Droid Incredible about 25 days ago (still within my 30-day return window), and I really love the phone, *except* for the battery life. I bought the HTC 1500 mAh and it's a tad better, but by the time I get back home from work, it's down to about 20-30% (with moderate to light-heavy use).
My 30-day window comes up in a few days, so I know I can technically return the Inc., revert to my old plan, and then come next week when the Fascinate gets released, pick that one up.
My questions are:
1) Does anyone know what sort of battery life the Fascinate will get? Better/Worse/Same as the Inc.? I've read through the Vibrant and Captivate forums, but I haven't seen anything concrete.
2) Would you return the Inc. and get the Fascinate instead?
Any help with my dilemma would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Dont know much about Fascinate, but any smart phone is going to use alot of battery. Especially with all it can do and how much you use it.
If thats your only complaint and you really love the Incredible then I would say get a "real" extended battery and enjoy your Incredible.

Thanks for the replies so far. The reason i haven't gotten a real 'extended' battery is that it adds bulk. One of the main reasons why I like the Incredible is the amazing size.
As for the Fascinate battery life, I've just read articles on the Galaxy S in general that the battery life is pretty good (comparable to the Droid X, which I heard is pretty good). If I am incorrect in thinking this, please correct me.

While I cannot speak for the Fascinate, I can tell you that the Incredible is my 8th smartphone, 6 Blackberrys (some for work on AT&T), an Eris and this Incredible. I actually have an active Blackberry Bold right now. I can tell you that all of them exhibit similar battery life.
My Blackberry leaves the house every morning fully charged and routinely needs charging by 3 pm. Granted I use it more than the Inc, but the Incredible lasts much longer.
I guess my point is, don't dump a phone you love because you may find the grass is not greener elsewhere.

I know what you mean about The bulk. I use the Seidio1750 cause its the same size as stock. It's slightly better then stock but the 2150 or the the larger Seidio would really be best. It's just a matter of if you can live with The size. I haven't been able to convince myself of that yet!

I jumped on the extended battery with corporate discount AND 30% off promo code at VZW and haven't looked back since. My cousin has the Samsung Captivate and it isn't as snappy as the Incredible and feels cheap. She loved my phone and the only reason she has ATT is that her house is a complete dead zone for Verizon for some reason.
Nevertheless, I'm glad she went Android because when her contract was up a few weeks ago, she ditched her iPhone 3GS, walked past the iPhone4, and went with the new Blackberry Torch. She hated that and went back for the Captivate LOL.

Yes jump ship so we don't have to hear you complain about the next phone that comes out that better than the fascinate! But seriously, the battery issues can be dealt with, and the Sammy is unknown for now, I personally have mixed feelings about them so I don't care to switch. I'd say if your unhappy with the phone get rid of it, if your happy stick with what you know.

Who's trading up for the Galaxy? Why? I know the Galaxy has an impressive screen and processor combo since it's 6 months newer than the Inc.

Same price. Go with the Fascinate (Galaxy S). Larger screen, super amoled, slimmer device, gorilla glass (much more durable screen). I personally think the fascinate looks better. Love the rounded edges and how slim the device is. I hated my Incredibles battery life (2.1 and 2.2). The Fascinates battery is honestly not much better though. But I can seem to get through the day a little better without charging it and its running 2.1. I havent had any real issues with the Fascinate. Had a force close error when i was running a benchmark test, but other than that, its been extremely smooth.
