Fatality: 2021

I just heard that author Beverly Cleary has died at 104. I loved her stories, and she’s still firing off imaginations in younger generations.

Most known on the other side of the pond, British actor Paul Ritter has died at 54; he had been suffering with a brain tumor.

His agency reported that Mr. Ritter died Monday night “peacefully at home with his wife Polly and sons Frank and Noah by his side.”

RIP, Mr. Ritter, and thanks for sharing your talents and entertaining so many. Condolences to your family, friends and fans.
 
U.S. Representative Alcee Hastings (D., Florida) has died at the age of 84. He was suffering from pancreatic cancer, although a cause of death was not given.

RIP, Mr. Hastings, and thanks for your service to your constituents.
 
I watched a rerun of “Friends” the other day (the one where Rachel finds out how Ross feels about her as he is about to leave for China) and was reminded how terrific an actor Jack Riley was (he has a pair of great cameos in the episode), though I and most people likely remember him as Mr. Carlin on The Bob Newhart Show.

Anyway, that caused me to do a little digging and I learned he died in 2016. Since we weren’t doing these threads then (well, maybe) I thought I’d post an RIP for him here.

Former NFL linebacker Geno Hayes has succumbed to complications from liver disease. He was just 33. Drafted by Tampa Bay, he also played for the Bears and the Jaguars.

RIP, Mr. Hayes, and condolences to your family, friends and fans. Thanks for sharing your talents.
 
Actress Tawny Kitaen (probably best know for 1984’s “Bachelor Party” with Tom Hanks) has passed at just 59. No cause of death has yet been reported.

Personal MO: Lost our greatest friend, Toby Zook, the one who I saved his life, and turns around a ton of time later on, as the demons whispering in his ear, to eat some poison for plants... We have not felt any better at all as a whole, just threw it out the window last evening.

I was talking about his death with my beautiful wife just yesterday, I am super glad she is with me.
