Fatality: 2022

Peter Robbins, best known as the voice of Charlie Brown, has taken his life. :( He was 65.
RIP, Mr. Robbins. Thanks for voicing a key character in many beloved stories. I’m sorry you had such struggles and couldn’t get the help you needed.

I just heard that Howard Hesseman, probably best known for his portrayal of Dr. Johnny Fever on “WKRP in Cincinnati” has left us at 81, from complications related to colon surgery. :(

RIP, Mr. Hesseman, and thanks for entertaining so many for so long.

RIP Bob Saget
https://variety.com/2022/tv/news/bob-saget-dead-full-house-star-afv-host-1235149876/

he portrayed one of America's most innocent TV dad's of all time, but in reality he was one of the fumiest and most foul mouthed comedians i have ever seen or heard.

thanx for making me laugh

Just read an article updating the cause of death, and it was head trauma. Here’s an excerpt from the family’s statement:

“The authorities have determined that Bob passed from head trauma. They have concluded that he accidentally hit the back of his head on something, thought nothing of it and went to sleep. No drugs or alcohol were involved.”

What a true shame. I suppose it’s a good reminder to us all that if you hit your head, don’t go to sleep. Have a friend call 911 (or you do it) so they can do a quick eval over the phone and get you to a hospital if indicated. Head trauma can signal a concussion which if treated is survivable, but sleeping after a concussion is either fatal or results in irreversible brain injury.

Be good to yourself, everyone. You’re the only you there is, and we need you.

Jeremy Giambi, former MLB outfielder with KC the Oakland Athletics, took his own life on Wednesday. He was 47.

RIP, Jeremy. I’m sorry things got so bad that it seemed hopeless. Thanks for entertaining fans with your talents, and condolences to your family, friends, fans and loved ones. :(

Just heard that on February 6, character actor Frank Pesce died at age 75 from complications of dementia.

RIP Mr. Pesce, and thanks for adding to our entertainment. I’m glad you got to have a career you enjoyed.

Dr. Paul Farmer, who co-founded Partners In Health, has died at 62 from what sounds like a heart attack (an "acute cardiac event."). A physician, humanitarian and author, Dr. Farmer was renowned for providing healthcare to millions of impoverished people worldwide. He also taught at Harvard Medical School and the dean, George Daley, described him as “A compassionate physician and infectious disease specialist, a brilliant and influential medical anthropologist and among the greatest humanitarians of our time — perhaps all time — Paul dedicated his life to improving human health and advocating for health equity and social justice on a global scale.”

RIP, Dr. Farmer, and thanks for all you did for so many. May your foundation continue your work forever.

Gary Brooker, frontman for Procol Harum and co-writer of the megahit “A Whiter Shade of Pale,” has died from cancer at 76.

RIP, Mr. Brooker, and thanks for entertaining so many folks for so long. I’m glad you got to do something you enjoyed.

Here he is in Denmark (2006) singing that song with an orchestra adding some great flavor:
