I bought a samsung galaxy s3. earlier i was an apple user. so i did my own little research on different apps. without going any further here is my list

*Maps and Navigation--- Sygic(nice offline navigator),Maps,Gps status,real time gps,gps essentials,compass plus

*Multimedia--- MxPlayer(nice movie player with speedy codecs) musixmatch(nice music and general lyrics player automatically working with the inbuilt player)
Readers and Editors--- Aldiko(general purpose light reader, nice for epub files) Adobe reader, Perfect Viewer(stand alone reader, very good to even alter page sizes of adobe files and not to mention its comic reading capabilities) , Pocket(nice offline reader, reads stores and has nice text flow capabilities thus storing from any browser a web page in its own nice format. it equals apples offline pages application) , Quickoffice pro , , acv ,
*in call apps---Mobile Manager(netquin) , Total Recall(the only call recorder in the market which genuinely records both side of the conversations but is paid)

*Translate(good translator useful in foreign trips)
*assistive light widget
*Gmote(my personal favourite and trust me markets only working wireless keyboard and mouse and beyond application. needs wifi. all other suckh applications in the market are bogus and fake. This baby runs like a dream and people whose pcs etc are connected to their hd tvs its a boon for them. surf on a big screen via a small screen lying in the bed)
*ebay,facebook,gmail,skype wikipedia,whatsApp Messenger
*Live wallpapers
-Aquarium(paid)
-bubbles
-deep sea
-flames
-galactic core
-luminous dots
-magic butt
-news wallphase beam
-photo wall
-snowfall
-sunrise
-thunderstorm
-windy weather

Remote Droid predates Gmote, it's neither bogus nor fake. :D

If you like Aldiko, try Mantano Reader. :)

Also, check out Dice Player.

Welcome to the forums! :)
thanx bro ill try them. im in a process of understang the functionality
of forum. before i have only read them for a long long time....

YUP...!!!!
You were right EarlyMon *Montano Reader* is really a stand alone reader which gives unbelievably amazing options and settings while reading a book. Reads all the formats. I was experimenting with this app all this time. It opened and smoothly read all the books plus the audio book reader is out of this world. I bought the pro version of this app but it crashesed on one of my pdf books without any solution but then I used another programm to read it. I think it reads 90% of all book formats and offers choices to make the readability easy for the reader. Ill give it 5 stars as I have never ever seen such a good book reader even on apple and I was using ipad2.
But the Dice Player the video player you recommended has no extra feature over the built in player or MX player. I And I was talking about the lyrics fetcher for audio files while they are being played from the web.musiXmatch does that very quick and even fetches the lyrics within a few seconds for the songs being played in the built in audio player of samsung for android ICS.
I am a doctor so I almost everyday have to read some chapter from some medical book. You have made my life lot easier.
Thanx once again bro.
Keep up the good work....

i am looking for a specific kind of Gps App in which there is a radar compass a simple one
which is able to connect to the satellites where there is no need for the network or data connection.
this app works on points depicted on the radar by ted manually bya dot consisting of a coordinate address which can both be saved as a current location
or inserted manually as N-E degree minute second format through private looking through other browser
In short there is table whose content as coordinates fan bensaved manually. this radar compass gadget on our screen shows
the direction of our target point and the distNce between us which comes to decreasing as we head
to our target.these two informations are enough for a good navigator to find places in the city

i know many of you cant understand what and why im talking about when market is filled with so many products
selling gps services maps compasses etc and so on so forth. i just want a nokia n97 kr e90 communicator like
gps compass built in app that shows the direction of our target and current distance from it wiyh a added
magnetic compass to it. its very very easy in this gmaps and sygic age where they always navigate in wrong direction
Its a strange fact that on market nobody thought ot such an app.The reasonmay whatever be. Kindly suggest....
i have tried many places but today im trying to put this issue in different forums since i couldnt get the reply

Great list, lonewolfsg2012.
One caveat regarding Sygic. In order for it to work off line it downloads maps to your phone. Since some of us have phones without SD cards (I'm still angry about this), we have limited memory available for such an app.

Then go for the app even im looking for. The gps radar as given in nokia phones by default
Its small, completely offline and very practical and field tested
Many times personally by me.... i found one app but it can just save
save one location which can be used as a target. Otherwise i used to have a list of locations added from google earth feeded or fed into the program and then accessed anytime as target without being online or having to load combersome maps of individual cities

And the answer to my querry is *GPS Essentials*
It does allis asked of it as a Gps Radar tgpe navigater. Doesnt need any map or network to work and everyone must try to understand this app to those who are interested in the concept of navigation. This app provides navigation in air land or sea between two points and the various changing measurements between them.

As a skier and a cyclist two of my favourite apps are Strava and Alpine Replay. Both use GPS to give you all kinds of information like distance, speed, calories burned, route maps, resting time, and in the case of Alpine Replay, airtime :D

Nice! :)

I've used MX Player, Moboplayer and Dice. The reason I suggested Dice is that the first two will resort to software decoding that can result in dropped frames on high data rate movies, where Dice won't. All three deserve a thorough trial, in my opinion.

I'm not much of a gamer so I would have to say my all time favorite app is Assistant? Has anyone tried it? It's free and it makes me laugh at Siri and iPhone users. So many people paid lotsa $$$ for the iphone 4s just for Siri. Now android has Assistant for free. rofl!!!

Anyone uses this antivirus app? If so, care to share your thoughts? My reason for bringing this up is:

  • I have been using LauncherPro PLUS from Google PLAY every since my first android.
  • Ive used various antivirus apps over the years.
  • None of the antivirus apps ever detected a "trojan.android" virus in LauncherPro!
  • Antivirus For Android picked it up on two different android devices I have

Question: anyone else have these two apps installed ? If so, what are your scan results?
I want to say this is a bogus result, but really like to get comments from others results.
Anyone interested in installing Antivirus For Android from Google Play and share your

(should this go under a different folder/discussion?)

Lots of apps in here I've never heard of... and I don't use AntiVirus apps on my phones because they seemed more about buying things and ads then working well.. iunno.

Anyways, I saw something called "MoreQuicklyPanel" which looks pretty much exactly like what I have already on my phone (came with it) but mine looks better haha

I don't have much on my phone, but I like Temple Run for games, same with Word Hero and Words with Friends. I use to have Opera mini for my old Pantech but the mobile browser could read HTML/CSS etc better than Opera Mini so I ditched it
