Root Favorite Rom?

You need to decide some of these things for yourself man. You don't have to ask someone before every little move you make. If you think it is worth time/risk then go for it, otherwise don't. Many of us here are pretty much in the same boat as you. We try things, sometimes things go well, sometimes we run into glitches. I think one of the things a number of us have tried to stress on here is that people's experiences can vary widely because there are so many variables that fluctuate from person to person and phone to phone-- Different app combos, differences in procedures used when flashing roms, different ways of using the phones, etc., etc.
 
Didn't mean to make myself sound like a stranded duckling in a pond LOL

When I saw this issue and saw others had it also, I just flashed back to virtuous

I meant my question to say, would it make any difference if I reloaded a rom, or would the problem still be there. Also wondering if he had same experience with the market

I'm still very green, only flashed those 2 Roms

A fair response. Ok. Well, I've seen issues with downloading apps from market by people using several roms and in fact I'm pretty sure I've seen people with the stock 2.2 rom having problems. I've not been able to determine the cause for sure and have, at times, even wondered if the problem is not with the market itself sometimes.
 
I tried out the new Sense ROM and was very impressed overall. It's still buggy as hell which is to be expected I think. When it or another New Sense ROM becomes stable and reliable, that's what I'm gonna be using. I found another new Sense ROM and I'm going to try it out tonight. Recently I had issues with the htc.bgp process crashing on Virtuous so I went back to SkyRaider 2.5.2 which is my safety ROM.

it can happen with any rom... its a glitch with froyo... check your download folder and they should be there labeled "download1..download2... download3...etc"

ha ha! That's funny.. cause Virtuous is my safety ROM. LOL
 
My ROM of choice right now is. Skyraider 3.2 RC3. This ROM did wonders for my phone. Speed and battery life is awesome!!!

Ahh i forgot about this one, i am going to try it next. Im just getting sick of re-setting all my settings :(

is there any quick method?

yeah install titanium back up and back up your system data along with apps and you dont need to set up ever again. (well sometimes doing it this way makes the rom go crazy. but it will happen in the first couple of days so after that you are good as gold.)
 
Virtuous is the best so far IMO but it does not give much of a custom feel. I tried uncommon but i hate the appr drawer...it opens up with a loading box...how lame! I have tried the following:

ShadowROM, CM6, Uncommon Sense, Virtuous, The Incdoes Desire HD, and Redemptive Revolution.

EDIT: NEW REDEMPTIVE REVOLUTION WENT UP ANDDDD IM TRYIN IT :)
 
oh damn tossed Skyraider 3.0 and on first boot im stuck on red eye animation. Damnit i could screw anything up i swear :(
 
okay it loaded. Can i get Wireless Tether to work with this ROM? It came loaded with my others

After you set it all up do another boot and install the 3.2 patch to fix the gmail link to market. You must reboot 1 time after install per the create of this Rom. Idk why but I do what he says. After that it should be good to go. You can remove bloatware and let the fun begin. He also has goodies in is section of Rom manager and you can also flash a custom button to rosie to open anything you like. Also check out his page on xda to install his rotary lock screen if you like.

Sorry for taking a couple days to respond.

To answer your question, I don't know. I have not used the Virtuous ROM, so I would not know how his custom kernel compares with Kings.
 
I just flashed the Revolution ROM. I really, really like the UI. I realize all it really did was add fancy transitions, but I like shiny things.
 
Virtuous has been the most stable, fastest, and reliable ROM that I have tried out of the main ones. I will be sticking with it until a port of the new Sense ROM comes out.
