Favorite widgets? (not apps)

HTC is reviewing the new widgets to make sure that the developer hasn't still got some "HTC-like" features on there. This is precisely why I enjoy the new BW and have imposed a personal (and encourage a) boycott on HTC products (at the very least, those running Sense UI). At any rate, back on topic. My widgets by screen:

Home: BW (post-update version), Handcent SMS
Screen #2: Power Control, Battery Widget, native Google Calendar
Screen #3: Pandora, native Audio Player, Youtube
Screen #4: Google Search, MyCoupons
Screen #5: Picture Frame
Screen #6: GenieWidet separated: Weather, News; Sportstap
Screen #7: native Facebook

My favoreites are:

USBSwitcher (not very sexy but a must have)
MotoTorch LED
ScreenModeWidget
Beautiful Home (yes, I have gotten used to the new design)
Advanced Task Killer Widget
Power Control Widget
Sound Recorder (for use with Rehearsal Assistant voice recorder)
TwinDroid Widget
BatteryTime
Music Widget (yup, the simple one that came with my Droid)

Anyone else want to chime in?

I think widgets are what set off my Droid vs an iphone and their boring icon based screens.

I showed my phone to some peeps at our company Christmas party and all were wowed on the layout.

In case anyone was wondering, so far all my widgets seem to work with home++. I just installed it last night and had to re-add the widgets to the new home screen on first use but other than that no conflicts. It doesn't seem to run any slower either. I haven't set it as the default home yet in case it crashes but it seems to 'play well' with everything else I have installed.

BTW, still not seeing Beautiful Widgets in the market. I never got to try it out before they removed it but it looks pretty cool.

the widgets i'm currently using:

3rd party
beautiful home
pure grid calendar
mini info

stock
music
power control
news & weather (from 2.1)

I use Weather Widget Free (comes in 3 sizes), Mototorch, Facebook, Battery Live by CurveFish, Power Manager, and Pandora. Those are the only ones I feel need to be displayed, so I guess they are my favorites

Uninstalled HOME++ and added:

More Icons Paid

These are the widgets i'm currently using:

Picture Frame
Beautiful Widgets
Astrid, Task Manager
Tunewiki, Music Player
MotoTorch, LED Flashlight
Mini Info, Battery/Internal Memory/SD Memory Status
Pure Grid Calendar
Taskpanel Task Killer
VizBattery Battery Status

Uninstalled HOME++ and added:

More Icons Paid

Love More Icons...bought it as well. I set it up so each icon has the same two programs on the top row and the same two on the bottom row, makes it very easy to select the programs and allows me to have up to double the number of programs accessible from my home page.

That and App Organizer make three home screens feel like five. :)

I'm running these apps:

MotoTorch - LED Flashlight with morse code in the app.
Android 2.1 News and Weather - Nice, but I would like to easily be able to change location.
Pandora - Internet Radio
Power Control (stock) - Very useful
Retro Clock - Very clean, links to alarm so I could remove that icon
Retro Date - Again, very clean, links to calendar so I could remove that icon as well.

After 2 weeks of use and scouring the forums for the best widgets/apps, here's the widgies I'm using and loving so far:

Facebook
Pandahome
Pure Grid Calendar
Weather Widget Donate w/ Weather Widget Forecast add-on (can't compare to Beautiful Home...still wanting to try that one when it becomes available!)
Battery Indicator
Advanced Task Killer
Picture Frame

Everyone seems to love Mototorch. I use LED flash light, I think a couple of people designed it on this site and I like it better. I tried Mototorch, but what I didn't like about it is if your phone is set to auto brightness and you turn it on via the widget, the brightness of your screen goes to torch mode. He said it's a glitch in the android 2.0 software. To avoid it, you have to call up the App itself and turn it on, or turn auto bright off.

Led flashlight does the same thing......but it gives you a black screen with a big red button for off and on, so when the screen brightens it's not so obtrusive and blinding.

Is there something I'm missing with mototorch? Maybe a way around this, other than turning auto brightness off? I know it's not a big deal, but I like using Auto bright, as where I work it goes from extremely dark to bright environments, I like the way the phone adjusts for me. I know mototorch has allot more options and customizations, but this one thing turned me off to it.

Maybe you avid users could help me out.

Weather Widget Donate with forecast add on- (paid) I like the clock better than Beautiful home now that they had to change.

Picture Frame - (stock)

Vizbattery - (free) Battery usage widget.

Sports Tap - (free) Sports score updating widget.

Pandora - (free) Internet Radio.

Task Pannel - (free) Quick Kill Tasks

Pure calender - (paid) Customizable event calender.

Pure Grid Calender - (paid) Customizable grid calender.

Astrid - (free) Daily task manager.

Mini info - (free) Sd card and internal memory info.

Did anyone think to search google for beautiful widgets version 2.36, that was the version that looked very similar to the widget on HTC phones.
*cough* I downloaded it today off megauploads... *cough*
Could be, its listed in my downloads as well but if you
search the market it won't come up.

Any word on how long HTC is going to drag this out. I can't see why they are bothering him after his re-design.

Mototorch has a widget that lets you tap on and off the LED flash. It is much easier to quickly tap a widget instead of going into the application.

Plus, the MotoTorch guy was on this site as well. Probably still is.

My favorite has to be the 2.1 News and Weather widget.

I just discovered that if you go into the settings you can add your own news topics. So I created one named "Motorola Droid" and it automatically pulls all the latest web topics.

The widget is where I have the trouble. If you use the widget and your back light is set to auto the screen gets almost brighter than the LED (annoying). You have to use the shortcut to avoid this. The disclaimer explains this when you first install it.

LED Flash light does the same thing but has a black screen with a big red button, so even though the screen brightens its not as obtrusive.

Just started using S2 CalenderWidget. There is a free and donate version. Synchs with your standard calender, shows holidays and appointments, and has various size options. Looks and runs great.

Thanks for the tip! I had installed Quick Calendar but it kept FC'ing, S2 seems nice so far.

Pandora-Streaming Awesomeness
Beautiful Home(old one)-weather,time
SportsTap-Favorite Teams Scores+Gametimes
TwidroidLarge-Huge widget takes up pretty much whole screen. But love it
MotoTorch-Let there be light.
MoreIcons-Smaller Icons-no need for more than 3 screens..very usefull!
Thats all for now..I'm sure there will be more. I am always moving things around.

These are my favorite:
