Help Fed up with ICS already

I know some of you are saying to not be so quick to blame ICS....but this is a pile of shit.

I had been fully stock, running on 905...never rooted...waited impatiently for ICS and finally got it last night. Initially it ran like garbage. long waits to do anything on the phone. by this morning, it got a little better, but was still unusable.

I did some research and saw a few threads suggesting to do a factory reset to give it a clean slate to run on.

I backed up my phone, performed a factory reset and instantly you could tell there was zero improvement. I have not installed any ordinary apps that would be hogging up a ton of resources.

Some examples of poor performance would be 20-30 seconds just to open up text messages - remember, i have done a factory reset, theres 2 messages in there from 1 person and it still lags.

Web brosing? forget it. i get the wait/report/ok message

Facebook? even worse - I get the wait/report/ok message 4-5 times if i keep hitting wait, it eventually opens.

Answering calls? I am lucky to catch it before it goes to voicemail.

So is it possible to roll back to 905? or am I stuck on ICS? 905 was usuable. 246 is garbage.

Anyone else having these issues? I just want to use my phone - is that too much to ask for?

I noticed you said you backed up the phone, just wondering how you backed it up and what did you restore from the backup?

I just mounted the phone's drive to my laptop via usb cable and copied important stuff (pics, media files, etc). i have not copied anything back to the phone at this point.

I don't know what to tell you. There is are somethings I haven't found yet like settings, but overall it is much faster and responsive than GB ever was. Not sure about the phone calls as, while it's different to answer, it doesn't seem to be any more diffucult.

Did you do an FDR with the SD card in or out? There are some people who have said they noticed problems doing the upgrade that had a lot of things on the SD card. I did an FDR with mine out and it's just great so far.

Hey, I just remembered something I saw on the web somewhere. Some users that were having trouble had to go into the stock recovery mode and clear the cache. I truly hope this helps.

So I was gunna go play around with the SD card idea...picked up my phone after it had been sitting untouched for about an hour on the charger, and sure as shit, everything works fine now. download speeds from the market are back to normal (they were painfully slow earlier too when doing bloatware updates) facebook opens right up, everything is running great.

wtf? :dontknow:

I said a prayer for you! That's how. lol :D

I just performed this as well. It seems to have helped.

Thanks for the advice.

If I was just some joe shmoe and got this update without knowing of forums to reach out to, I would have thrown this phone out the window due to this update. My patience with the phones performance was wearing very thin.

Good deal then!
