Root Feels like a dumb question

Sprints network is going through huge changes with network vision. Some days are good and others are bad as they work on and bring new towers online
 
I guess I did something wrong. CM10 won't get a connection but stock will. Sat on my phone for an hour. Rebooted stock and BAM! internet. Rebooted CM10. No internet.
 
Well I had something weird happen today. I wonder if there IS something different about this PRL?

I was out in the boonies and i lit my Nav off on JB to help me find my way across country. I had the little triangle over the signal bars that let me now I was roaming, but I had 3g!

I don't know if I have EVER seen 3g while I was roaming before.

Glad it worked, I'd still be wandering around the country side if it hadn't! :p
 
one more question. I've been failing to flash the latest beastmode kernel. becauce I ♥overclocking. it says it installs fine, but never boots. i saw in the rooting guide that we have to flash kernels in hboot via linux command? or is that just for s-on users?
 
oh boy. i feel sooo smart. what would be an equivalent for jb in terms of clocking?

Well, the thing is, I had called Sprint to request a corporate prl in order to ease my pain. The people I spoke with, who assured me they were very knowledgeable and that rooting would make hair grow on my palms, told me there was no such animal as a corporate prl. :D

I gave up on even trying to talk with them. Next thing you know, we all have prls with numbers I thought were reserved for corps. Got me.
 
woa. superuser just had a fit. would lag out trying to ask for root permission. then all the apps got through at once.
 
aaaand i lost my app drawer button. anyone know how to put it back? i used to do it all the time on my og by logressing the screen. really need to lock the dock.
 
What are you doing to that poor phone of yours over there? :eek:

How'd you lose it? Wiping dalvik cache and cache and relashibg the Rom/kernel should help it

apex? i just use the one in CM10, adw i think it's called.

it's cool guys, i accidentally marked something while redoing my settings.

gah! so many governers, my last kernel was tiamat. I don't know what all these governers do.
 
Cm10 uses their own launcher called trebuchet I believe.

As far as governors go I stick with smartass v2, lionheart, or wheatly.
 
apparently komodo uses a governer or 2 not listed in that thread. :/ guess i leave them alone.
 
Pretty much every new governor is a tweaked version of either on demand or conservative that come on the device.

Just stick with ones that work ;)

not surprisingly those governers force a reboot, so lionheart it is.
 
This is getting really out of hand. I know something was going on with our towers a week a go. But now my connection is sputtering in and out so bad I can barely use tapatalk. I don't suppose reflashing radios or something would help? It doesnt sound like a good idea, but I'd do it if I could.
