Root Few questions about modding the Y please peeps

My wife is inheriting a galaxy Y.
Im very experienced in modding the sgs3 so few questions:
how easy is it gona be to root/rom this and is it via odin on the pc or can be done "in-phone"?
Hows the dev support around it?
Any recommended rom (should i keep it GB for app2sd function)?
Any lil unique things about the phone to be careful with?
Are there more than one version? (Im in UK, Europe)
What is the Y Duos?

It is more easy to root and install ROMs on SGY. It is the most low end smart phone running android GB. As a dev I'll help you in some issues. You can PM me if u want.
A developer will try his ROM flashing 1000 times in his mob and fails more than that during test. Flashing Stock rom via ODIN is easy.
