Few Questions!

So I finally upgraded my phone the other day, and I love it. Just have a few questions....

1. My battery seems to drain really fast. I've been reading and see this is normal. But is there ways to help the battery time. Last night I started using the app AdvanceTaskKiller, and its helping some. But battery still barely lasts half a day. Is there any other ways to help battery performance?

2. Before I switched phones, I forgot to use the thing on my other phone to save numbers. So I lost my numbers. But I synced my Facebook and got most of my contacts back. But now I'm sitting here with a few hundred contacts I don't care to have. Don't wanna have to erase each individually. Is there a way to delete multiple contacts? Maybe an app. Or a way to import my synced Facebook contacts and other contacts to G-Mail then erase the ones I don't want there then export it back to my phone?

Thanks for any answers!

Hi,
As far as the battery goes this is what is working well for me. Installed quick settings so I can easily turn screen brightness down. Also use quick settings to easily turn off GPS, bluetooth and wifi. I keep my screen brightness areound 20 or so and I keep bluetooth and GPS off pretty much all of the time. I turn on wifi when I am at home to surf the web. I installed the free version of Juice defender and I use the aggressive setting. So when the phone is asleep juice defender turns the mobile data off which helps a lot. When I first started using my phone when I got it two weeks ago it was horrible even keeping wifi, gps and screen brightness under control. Then I installed juice defender and along with the other things I do, it is a lot better. This is what is working for me and during the day Mon - Fri, I only use my phone while on my break at work. I hope this helps you. Good luck

If your still having problems with the battery drain issue, when you first turn your phone on for the day, put the phone in Airplane mode for 20-30 seconds then turn airplane mode back off, there's seems to be a time without signal TWS glich(it spends so much time looking for a signal it drains your battery) with the "V",s.It Might get better when you get done totally setting up your phone because your not spending near the amount of time with the screen on ,and browsing the market, downloading all those neat apps you just gotta have, etc. From all that I have read in these threads using a task killer isn't always the best Idea for a lot of reasons.Instead you might try downloading Watchdog Task Manager from the market. It monitors your apps and alerts you when one loses control, allowing you to kill just that single app.Killing apps blindly can cause some to stop working as designed. I hope this is of some help(we get freely,we give freely)

IME GPS is the largest batt drainer by FAR.

As mentioned above turn off ALL of the radios that you don't need, e.g. wifi, bluetooth, etc. and keep the screen brightness as low as you can tolerably use.

Using task killers does nothing you cannot,to exit out of an app use the back button, the 3g is what beats down the battery, use wifi when possible and disable mobile data,as for using Juice defender it is more harm then good, nothing worse then not being able to receive calls or messages, because juice defender interferes with the radios in the phone, also once a month let the battery die and charge it full

Oh, and IF you install an anti-virus app(probably a good idea) be careful of which one.

I tried AVG (Avast beta) a couple of times and it really killed my batt, so I switched to the more popular lookout which has been fine. Batt runtime seems to be just as good as w/o it.

I use juice defender to help my battery life. It doesn't interfere with my calls or anything. It's great. I use the custom setting. Also if you have wifi at home, use that instead of 3g.
