Final Fantasy 13

Grinding is the main reason I prefer not to buy RPGs for home consoles
Love RPGs on handhelds tho, got a loan of FF IV for the DS, fantastic! :D
If there is a decent looking FF for 3DS I might pay the extortionate price Nintendo will sell em for :p

You should definitely play Tales of Vesperia. If you've ever played Eternal Sonata, then you will be more familiar with ToV. The battle system in Tales is all action. You basically have a circle that you must stay in but you can move freely in there. The FF13 battle system pales in comparison IMO. I don't like how its system is all time based and you have to go through menus to select what you want to do, including using items, while stuff keeps happening.

I haven't really done any grinding so far in ToV. I guess I do kill an extra amount of monsters, but it doesn't feel like grinding to me. I'm hoping that it stays this way!

I am SO glad to have Estelle finally back after her long hiatus with Alexei. I like how the game forces you to play without the typical healer. I basically just had Raven and Karol do the healing while using apple and lemon gels from time to time. I've actually never tried that combo before, but I think I'll give it a go to go after Alexei.

I've devoted at least 32 hours to it now and I'm still not close to finishing. Exactly what is a "long" game to you? lol This is quite a bit longer than FF13.
 
might check out ToV so, tho I suspect it may be difficult to come buy for PS3 :D
Also seems to be a decent amount of female characters, thankfully :)
 
From what I know, it's not yet available for the PS3. I believe that it's in the works but there's no announcement yet of release date.
