is there a way to get an updated IMG? perhaps 4.08.605.2? That website only has the IMG for 4.06.605.2. The RUU is for 4.08.605.2 but its not working for me. It says i need to plug in my cable to the pc and to the phone (duh).

Up until about a week ago I was getting intermittent reminders about the 4.08.605.2 update that my phone wants to install. Now I'm getting reminders all day every day. I asked a sales person at a Verizon Kiosk about the update and he said don't do it because there were a lot of problems and I'll have to factory reset my phone. Is this true? In case he was talking about the previous update, the 4.06.605.2, will the 4.08.605.2 or any update for that matter wipe my phone of all the apps and contacts, etc.?? Thanks in advance for the replies.

Do the update, it fixes the problems with the previous update.

Typically, a factory reset after a major update is a good idea as it cleans out all of the crap left behind by the conflicting Android versions. This improves performance, stability, and battery life. So, I would recommend performing a factory rest at some point after the update, but it is completely your call.
