Finally, Vegas suggestions?

Anyone who knows me around here, knows that I have a "wife"; I refer to her as my wife, even though we've been engaged for 4 years. Well, it's finally happening, we are getting officially married on September 20th. So that leads me to some questions, my parents were nice enough to rent us a hotel room in Las Vegas for an entire week; but what should we do? We're going to be on a budget, since the wedding has been expensive. What do you guys enjoy doing in Vegas? I've been there several times, but this will be my first time since turning 21. What casinos, fun places, restaurants would you recommend? We're up for basically anything.

Here's a few things we already have planned.

Heart attack grill
Stratosphere
The Tank at the Golden Nugget
Gold and silver pawn shop (Pawn stars)

Never been to Vegas, but looks like you have some great places in mind. Would love to go to the Heart Attack Grill! :)
Congrats on your wedding, enjoy!

I forgot to list that we are also going to see Penn and Teller. (I can't wait to meet them) I'll look into that Cirque Du Soleil show, my wife really wants to go; but the tickets are pretty pricey.

I'll second a cirque show (I would recommend Ka over O though). :)

In-n-Out burger!!!

Are you planning in renting a car or just hanging out near the strip?

I used to live in Vegas... I'm sure i can come up with more if you give me an idea of what you are looking for.

Do they have an In and Out in Vegas? I remember one in Reno when I left CA. :(
Fortunately, Five Guys makes missing it much easier. ;)

Yeap, closest to the Strip is (or at least was) just west on Sahara.

When you crave one (or the other) nothing else can resolve it. :D

Personally, I had fun just walking around on the strip. Visiting the various casinos/hotels was amazing. You could check out The Blue Man Group @ Venetian if you're into weird guys banging on drums and paint flying everywhere lol.

Visit the Vegas visitor's bureau. Lots of interesting stuff to do if you get out and explore. Many residents find plenty to do like go to Lake Mead or museums. There are several nice Indian motorcycle dealers in Las Vegas. Perhaps you can let er buy you a nice wedding gift?

Seriously, visit Vegas dot com (or some such) and dig deep. Every tourist trap has a few interesting diversions.

We're already lucky enough to have In-N-Out here in Salt Lake City, so I'll probably skip going there. Although, we don't have Jack In The Box; I'll definitely go there a few times.

It's only a 4-5 hour drive from here to Vegas, so it's easiest to take my own car. Thanks for all of the suggestions guys, what are your favorite Vegas roller coasters? (I've been on the New York, New York coaster, Buffalo Bills, and Nascar cafe.) Are there any specific casinos I should visit? A friend told me to definitely hit Fremont St, since that area is classic Vegas.

You can spend 2-3 days wandering the strip easily. If you've got time in advance I think there's an old nuclear testing facility nearby that you can actually tour if you schedule it with enough warning that they can do a background check on you. I've always wanted to. There's a place down the street from the strip on Tropicana where you can fire all kinds of weaponry if that's what you're into. If you've got a vehicle there are several other things in the Vegas area that are interesting.

Both of those sound like things I would do, I'll definitely look into it.

There is always Red Rock Canyon and Valley of Fire also. Both are a drive but fun if you enjoy the outdoors.

I'll look into those, I don't know if we'll want to travel out of Vegas. I'm not a fan of the heat, so the outdoors doesn't sound like a good plan; hopefully we'll stay inside as much as possible.

After visiting vegas.com, I'm definitely going to go to the Goretorium; it opens on September 27th and seems like something I would go to. (I'm a huge fan of gore and horror movies) It's basically a year round haunted house that was created by Eli Roth (Writer/Director of Hostel)

Las Vegas Discounts | Half Price Tickets Every Day | Tix4Tonight

You can get up to 50% off to very nice restaurants like Hugo's cellar downtown or the Ranch or Range I forget the name.

Hugo's would be very nice...they give roses to the women and it's a very nice restaurant.

Also....last minute tickets to some of the major shows....check out the site before you go.

A friend told me about this place, but he couldn't remember what it was called. Thanks a ton, I'll definitely go to this place.

well the best place to go for breakfast is at the belagio. they have the best breakfast buffet around IMO. for the same price you can get an lobster omelet!!!!!! also if you time it i right at ceasar's buffet restaurant like around 4:30p you can pay for the lunch buffet and then just wait around unitl they switch over to the dinner buffet. and BOOM you have dinner for the price of lunch:D

if you want to go to a great restaurant then try the Mesa Grill in ceasar's palace. its bobby flay's restaurant and it is amazing. but there are sooooo many really good restaurants in vegas, but that one is my fav.

the old strip is really cool to go and checkout especially at night with the light show they have.

and it is so funny. i'm in LA and i'm surrounded by in N out's:p

Dude, I came back from Vegas around 3 weeks ago and had a crazy time!

You have to go to a show. We went to Le Reve (you get a discount if your staying at the Wynn or Encore) and it was amazing. It's water based and what those people do is crazy.

I'd also really recommend checking out the fountains at the Bellagio (at night). They are completely free and worth the walk, even in the insane heat.

The shops at the Venetian are mind-blowing. It has a moat pretty much running through the whole thing and a painted sky as well.

A week is a long time in Vegas, so I'd also recommend doing an excursion if you can. They do Helicopter rides to the Canyon and there's quite a few driving experiences close by as well.

Have a great time man.

Penn and Teller are beyond awesome. I paid $100 and saw them from 3 rows back. I'm a cheapskate, but felt I got my money's worth. Watching them work together is amazing.
