Root Firefox Beta

Thought this might need it's own topic rather than being lost on other threads. Installed new beta and got it syncd with my computer. But it seems to reboot my computer a lot. Has anyone tried the ff sync to dolphin app? Wondering how that would work.

Thanks to a post by MikeRL in the CM7 g60 style thread, I just tried out the new Firefox beta and I'm loving it so far.. Flash is still kinda glitchy, but I have been a huge fan of Firefox on PC for years so I'm still rooting for this app and can't wait to see its future progress :)

As for syncing, i haven't tried it yet but I will tonight and check back. I am using "Pale Moon" on my Windows 7 PC but I don't think much should change between using that and the original Firefox since it's basically the same program but just stripped down for Windows.

I am using Firefox Beta and was curious if anyone knew if I could switch to the official version and import my settings and such from the Beta version?
Is that possible or are the official and beta completely stand-alone apps?

I do not believe you can import the settings. By the way, why would you want to switch to the official version? The official version made my phone restart itself, and is slower than sludge. It has more features, such as find in page. But beware, it is a piece of junk. And it has the ugly old interface. Not to be rude, but avoid the stable version at all costs, for now...

You're right. Official version is very slow. I'm just thinking the current beta will one day be moved to the official (with flash, new interface etc) and was just curious.
Also, a lot of the add-ons I want to use aren't "compatible with this version of Firefox).

I would never use the current official version but I assume the next release will be better.

Do you know of a way to edit the about:config to allow installation of addons not compatible?
really, the only addon I am really missing is the ext-youtube which opens up YouTube URLs with the YouTube app instead of within browser. I can live without it. Just curious. Firefox Beta is now my one and only browser and I am so glad you convinced me to try it. Best its ever been! :)

Unfortunately, there is no force compatibility option like there is in the desktop version. Not only that, but about:config is slow as hell in both the Beta and the Nightlies. It even made my phone reboot itself! Twice! Talk about crazy! Anyhow, I've reported the bug, and you can track it here. I highly recommend that you stay far away from about:config until they make more and more performance improvements, unless you want lag and reboots!:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::eek:

Thanks for the good advice. I appreciate it. I'm loving the browser. I can't wait to see where this is going :)
Yes, it certainly has potential. :) But for now, it still has issues. Hopefully those issues are ironed out in the near future.

Another Firefox Beta update just came out. One more step closer to brining Mozilla back from the ashes!
