Help Firefox settings

Showme

Newbie
I decided to use Firefox as a browser due to the popup blocker. There is probably a setting I don't understand and maybe someone could point me in the right direction.

When closing other applications on my Skyrocket, I simply arrow back to the homepage and it shows no active applications. When I use Firefox, the counter will show it open until I close it using the Exit or Exit All button.

Is there a way to make it close down like everything else does? I have battery issues and know that having it open is using juice that might come in handy later.

if an application has an exit option that can in some cases be the only way to exit that app.

I have a few apps that are set up that way. (poorly I might add)

I have never cared for firefox, dolphin, opera, and maxthon all have a pop up blocker that work, and have been ten times faster than firefox every time I have tried them.

it app depends on how the individual app is designed. Some apps will close by hitting the back button and some do not. Its not uncommon to see a browser 'not' close with the back button. The OEM browser stays open as well. In firefox, you need to hit the menu>exit, in order to close it completely. I use firefox as well and I love it.
