Help Firmware Updates Toast mSD card?

Out of curiosity, it does seem like the Sandisk 32GB cards are very 'flaky'; especially the dual-coloured red/gray cards. I have the full black coloured Sandisk ones in my Note 10.1 (formatted to exFAT) and another two of them in the other Note 2s (formatted in FAT32). I have a Samsung 32GB in my Note 2 (also formatted to exFAT) as well. No issues yet with any of them.

i have the old one all black so i dont know if its the new ones that are messing up or the old ones.

For what its worth I have absolutely no problems since swapping out my Note 2 with a brand new one. My sd card is now working very well w the new update since it was already installed when I set everything up.
 
My cards are the 2 colored ones.

Still haven't taken it into Sprint. I guess part of me just doesn't want them to touch my phone.

I still have nightmares from the time I took a phone in for something simple and they bought it back out to me in pieces taking about "water damage"...... and if you've been there before then you know how I feel. They lied! :eek:

Maybe contact Sandisk and see if they will warranty and replace the cards. I honestly hear more issues with the dual coloured cards than anything else. The cards are hit and miss with most users. The solid colour ones seem to work better for some reason.

Ouch. That's gotta be traumatic. Definitely run away from them and never go back if I ever experienced that.
 
Found this thread after doing a search - same thing here, sort of. I updated my RAZR MAXX HD three days ago to 4.1.2 via OTA and everything seemed to work well, no problems with the SD card. Listened to music (on the SD card) and even did some file transfers last night from Internal storage to the SD card with no issues. This morning all of the sudden I get an error message saying "SD card unexpectedly stopped working. Unmount before" something. The card appears to be fried. Bummer. Sandisk 32 gb, two color (red/black) card.

Red/Black sandisk? Never seen that before. The 2-color microSD's that I've seen are either red/grey or red/gold. You sure you have an authentic?
