Just a simple question, how do you figure out which firmware you're running? I just wanted to know in case I brick my phone I would like to have the right one.

I've never had an lg but pretty sure you'll find it under settings/about phone/baseband or something close to that

Having the right one isnt really an issue unless you're switching roms. Have you tried the various software versions out?

I havent tried anything yet. im trying to get everything straight before i even root but i jus want to be able to unbrick my phone if it comes to it. i am going to be switching roms and i do kno that some roms are only good for certain firmware. do they all the firmware work? thats what im really asking i guess. another reason im wanted to get the unbrick method correct is because i want to make a script that will get rid of all the bloatware and if my phone bricks i need to be able to fix that.

also i have seen the cm 10 rom and i have seen it is still making progress does that need a cretain fimware to run it correctly?

That's what I do every time. I have all the firmwares saved as a restore point so I can easily switch roms. Cm10 works best with version d in my opinion due to the bat.life configurations making the transition.

So what is wrong worth cm 10? Is it jus messaging and 4g or is there more? Is there at least data?

The only two problems I see other then 4g and texting not working is the network displays LGU+ (Which is why I think 4g and texting is not working) and when you copy and paste, the bar where you click to either copy, cut, and paste it has a blue line on it and it's annoying to see.

How did you flash the rom? did your flash it through recovery or did you push it from a computer?
