First Apps for your phone

I had a very cool app on my incredible. I think it was a google beta app. You could just start writing letters on the screen with your finger one at a time full screen and it would search your phone to find the file. Apps, music, contacts whatever. Anyone know what i'm talking about and where to find it?

So far the neatest one I've found is Driodlight. It uses the camera's LED as a flashlight.

I'm an android newby,so I'm easily impressed ;)

I'm an Android noob. Someone told me to d/l Launcher Pro. I downloaded it and was like "EWW THIS IS DIFFERENT", so I uninstalled it and went back to NinjaBlur....I re-installed Launcher Pro like 5 minutes later :o

I currently own NBA JAM from SNES, I know there is a ROM out there. Can someone please explain to me how to install.. Feel free to send me a PM.

THANKS!

ADW Launcher has taken the cake for me so far in terms of home screen manipulation. Scanner Radio (Police/Fire Scanner) is entertaining. RingDroid works like a charm. So many amazing apps.

For a gaming fiend like myself, I find the current listing of games pretty dismal...DAMN YOU iPHONE!

Are the console emulator based apps worth it? Do they come preloaded with several games or are we forced into purchasing collections separately?

I can't even begin to go through all of my app because there are SO many =)

Handcent SMS - definitely my fave!!! (even though in the latest version there is a kink having to do with the account picture.. have to wait for an update)

I found this site that has a lot of roms, including NBA Jam. Roms4Droid - SNES, NES, SEGA, GBC, GBA, N64 ROMS! Roms for Android, Roms for Droid, Snesoid
All you have to do is copy the .smc file onto your sd card and install SNesoid Lite. When you run the app it should default to look to the sd card and the rom you loaded onto your sd card should show up.

Hope that helps.

This is not another thread to list every single app that you have! Just name like 3-5 of must have apps for the Droid X so it'll help give people new ideas.

DroidLight

LED flashlight for your Droid X thanks to Motorola.

Photobucket

Very easy way to manage all of your photos that you take with your phone. I find it easier than Picasa. When you want to post images on these forums, I just can't figure out why Picasa's photo link doesn't work.

MixZing

My favorite music player. It has a custom equalizer, nice widget, and lockscreen widget.

LauncherPro

A custom UI that is full of customization and features. If you want to get as close to stock as possible, then this is the way to go. Check this link for customization of icons in LauncherPro, thanks to Airmaxx: http://androidforums.com/tips-tricks-droid-x/115618-how-custom-icons-your-droid-x.html

I don't like comparing but what is a comparable weather app like bbweather? I liked the fact i could use my current position and get weather there. No i do not like weatherbug. Is there any others?

I prefer this over handcent

I really don't many of my apps, but these two I really do.

In no particular order:

Astro File Manager
Flikie Wallpaper HD
GPS Test
Buzz Box (news)
Launcher Pro

Beautiful widgets was a must for the clock/weather. Worth all 180 pennies!

Photobucket, facebook and ringdroid

A number of the standard apps are must haves. In terms of ones I downloaded and would hate to live without:

Sugarsync

Touchdown Exchange

Dialer One

Google Earth

An Expense Tracker App (yet to be chosen)

Ok, I need the best weather widget you've got. The stock one just doesn't cut it. And if its free, that would be awesome! =D

Beautiful Widgets has a nice weather widget.
