Root First Bionic ROM: UNL3ASH3D-V1.0

The drivers are installed, but rsd cannot maintain a solid usb connection to the phone. I got it to decompress and flash, but it failed before it finished because the usb device was suddenly unrecognized. I am presently trying the driver and rsd install on another computer.

While trying a different PC, try a different USB cord also if one is available. I know it sounds crazy, but it could be that simple.

Also, me sure that you are using USB ports on the back of the PC if possible. Sometimes the secondary sets on the front of a PC do not ways maintain the best connection.

I hope you get it worked out.

I've finally downloaded the files for RSD, but the RSD Lite doesn't show the device. I am uncompressing the huge tar file, but I cant flash without device.

I'm wigging out here, anybody have any ideas?
Right click on rsd and run as administrator. Haven't used this version of rds but that was a fix for my same problem on an older version.

So has anyone had enough experience with this ROM to give us an idea of what is majorly different besides being debloated? Any battery life drop offs or bugs to worry about yet?

n00b question: If I do a nandroid backup and backup all user apps with Titanium Backup Pro, could I potentially switch back to the exact same setup/rom I have right now after flashing this if lets say I don't like it?

Or would I have to go through manually setting everything up again (like apps etc.)

If you restore from a nandroid backup everything will be restored to how you left it, right down to the apps.

Sweet. That means Ill be flashing this bad boy either still tonight or tomorrow

Thanks!

Ok I couldn't help myself. I flashed this ROM and since i'm still learning and getting a feel for it, I restored my nandroid backup. Worked like a charm and without complications (flashing to this ROM and then restoring my backup).

Sweet deal. I feel like i'm getting a good feel for Android ;-) boy am I glad I finally got rid of that stupid blackberry lol.

I haven't really noticed any difference. I will be checking battery tomorrow. And the toolbox doesn't have anything in it. I also have not found any bugs in it so that is good also.

Just so you guys are aware, 1.1 has just been released. The original link will take you to the new/updated post and changelog.

Hello everyone who offered suggestions, hints, and moral support. Some 11 hours since I ran the nandroid backup before my nightmare began, I have just finished resurrecting, re-rooting, and reinstalling the boot loader, and finally restoring the nandroid backup, and all seems well at first glance. I shall have to give serious consideration next time I try to load another rom. Vlauable lesson learned and blood pressure returned to non-lethal level. Good night, all, and thanks very much.

I had one bug so far. The screen would not respond to touch when the alarm went off. Guess no snooze this morning. Almost had to do a battery pull to keep the wife from throwing my phone across the room.

Was that with 1.0 or 1.1? I have at least 3-5 alarms going thru my day and I dont want to sit there and fight my phone trying to turn it off at work lol.

After loading this I have noticed I lost the SuperUser program....is this normal?

I noticed thi as I was thrying to run the ROM toolbox form Liberty Team and it said I dont have busy box on my phone. Tried to install busybox and it said I dont have root....

Tried re-rooting and it did all but cant push SU...

thoughts?

Been running well for me since yesterday, 1.0 and 1.1. Seems a little faster and a little better on battery. More tweaks to come tho! Have only noticed one bug. When editing a calendar event, it will FC if you try to change the time zone. Other than that, its all smooth sailing.

First and foremost, reboot the phone.

1.2 is up. Biggest change is the D3 camera software added. I cant tell for sure but it does seem better. I have not gotten great pics from bionic before but i did a few test and they were not bad at all. Could be wishful thinking...

Welp, the specs of version 1.2 has me curious enough to give this ROM a shot. Flashing after I nandroid my current ROM. Frankly, I can't imagine my Bionic running any better than it is now.

IDK WTF Is going on with apps. I am running 1.2 x and I've lost the camera and camcorder apps. They didn't get moved anywhere they are just gone and I can't seem to find a way of getting them back. I also lost then restored the my verizon mobile app but it won't link with the server although my old original droid still will. Maybe this rom is it ready for primetime?

Been running it, and testing it for about 5 hours ... can't find a single flaw.

Do the FXZ restore and try again, and make sure you are clearing all of the things that you need to clear before actually flashing anything.

Here's a post from RootzWiki that says what you should be doing.

You also need to reboot to get the verizon mobile app to work. There are a couple of other people that had the same problem with the camera. Do a full wipe like the instructions say and then flash 1.1. Then wipe cache, dalvik, format system and flash 1.2 and you will have everything back.

This is probably where your problem started. "I installed it and only wiped (formatted) /system and all my apps were undisturbed."

You need to follow the developers instructions for everything to work right.

I ave been running this since he released 1.0 and I have not had any problems.
