First Scratch :(

So I have no clue how I got the scratch, but I have about a half inch scratch on my phone. It's very light and usually covered by a finger print. I am going back to screen protectors but I would say for a first scratch not a bad run. I have kept it naked since I bought it and have had kept in my keys with pockets. Honestly I wouldn't doubt thats how it happened !

You've had it since launch? I guess that is a good run. But like Steven58 says - use a protector. Accessories forum has threads on good ones.

I've never used any case or screen protector. My screen has plenty of scratches, albeit very small ones, and they can't be seen when the screen is on.

Are you all so vain? :P

And anyway, if it gets so scratched that I can't stand it anymore, I can just throw it in a lake and call up Asurion.

Dedicated pocket for a phone = no scratches unless you drop it often. I had my Blackberry Storm naked the entire two years I had (to deal with) it, no major scratches. I did drop it half a dozen times though...

try buffing it out with a hammer

sucks I found my first one as well, I don't keep it in the same pocket as my keys though, I make sure of it. I was quite surprised, but oh well, like said above it is small and can't be seen with the screen on.

First scratch always hurts. This is why I use the screen protectors. Yes, I'd prefer not to, but I also can't stand looking at a screen with scratches on it.

hahahaha i actually laughed out loud at this....oh my lifes pathetic. hahaha

I have a scratch too... the weird thing is I had the vzw screen protector on and still do. I recently changed screen covers since you get three with vzw. The "scratch" is about one mm long and was under the screen protector. I don't know how it got there. I thought the screen protector was scratched but it looks like its the screen... could it be a minor crack??? This sucks...

I have a scuffed corner from dropping the phone on concrete, but the screen is untouched. After I got the scuffed corner, I finally bought screen protectors and a case.

got my first one after like 3 days with the phone and have no idea how... but i got sikinomi screen protector and it keeps it from scratching again and hides the one i got

Dropped mine while cycling, thought it was in my back pouch..NOPE!!!...KABOOOM...BACK OFF, BATTERY OFF.multiple scratches along one side. I was upset at first, bu tfor the kind of finish the Dinc has I rubbed it down a bit..no worries, I'll be getting the bigger HTC model when it comes out in a year or so...I love this phone..and FYI, this is my second drop. I have always had Seido cases..oh well

I think that most people who buy these phones, or I guess any more expensive phone, hold on tight to the availability offered to them of the factory refurbished warranty. Many of us posters here, and I'm guilty of it too, as soon as we find something wrong with our phones go running to the CS Reps.

If it is a real thing then I totally support it. and I'm not saying this is what anyone has done, I'm calling NO ONE out here.
but once there is enough scratches, call up CSReps and say, oh well my speaker blew, ect. ect. and there ya go. I went through 4 Eris' within 6 months, but those were real issues, and Verizon gave me this Incredible free of charge due to those issues.

Esp. the release of S-On, I am sure there will be a buncho FRU (factory refurbished units) being sent out in the hear future.

could this be a reason why I feel better about not using a screen protector or a case, absolutely, in my mind, as long as the I haven't done anything like gotten the phone wet, and I REALLY do have the issues I am saying, then I believe a FRU is in order.

Meh, screw the screen protector, I would rather get a factory refurb. I vote to change the topic heading to.... whats the best way to blow your INC speaker lol JK kind of /discuss.
