First Sprint Bill for Evo... New Customer

I asked him if it was possible to get the activation fee waved due to the fact I broke contract with my previous service provider and incurred a large early termination fee just to sign a new service contract with them.

He then took about 5 minutes, talked to his supervisor and we were golden. :)

I checked online for my first bill to see if its been put up there. I have the 79.99 plan (69.99 + 10) and the 36 buck activation, but my bill is 136 bucks!

If my math is correct ... 80 +36 = 116. Is it really 20 dollars in taxes and stuff there? I can't see a detailed bill though which includes where the extra 20 is coming from, but WOW ... caught me off guard.

My ATT bill didn't seem to have that much added on, so I was just wondering if anyone elses first time bill was like this.

Sprint prorates, man. You shouldn't be surprised... After you pay your first bill, it will go down. Even though wireless service taxes are insane, but it will go down. Don't worry.

Just called got 70.00 credit for each of my lines.....was told you need to call customer before you purchase and extend your contract...told them I didn t know that before hand ..so was switched to a supervisor and she gave me the 140.00 credit.......yahhhh

my bill hasn't updated yet but i got my phone on the 8th and it charge me for the 8-12th for 42 dollars ???? i thought it was prorated.

I am glad that they released the EVO on the 4th. I was so anxious that I think waiting 2 more days would have put me in the looney bin. ;-) And as for the $10 charge for those 2 days, I made sure to get my money's worth in data downloads. >:-)

I also got the EVO but I got HotSpot. My bill is $166!! NONE of my Corp. discounts were applied. Plus they weren't supposed to charge me the activation fee and they did. How is this cheaper than my AT&T iPhone?

Totally mine was $180.31

I have 3 lines with Verizon unlimited everthing and I pay around 250$

Just got my bill....$172..Whoaaa!

Sprint gets the gas face for how they do there billing, says they bill a month in advance...blah blah... I have the 900 min plan, and all these surcharges, and like some people my discount is not there 19%, and of course there is a $35 activation fee for which I was assured would not be there. Well I really don't see a savings at all coming from at&t what so ever. I'll be giving them a call later today to argue it out and see what there willing to credit me back, but I can tell ya, this is what it has become with all these cell companies. There all rip off artists!

well i gave them a call today to see if they could match what i had before or at least lower my bill from the current 80 dollar a month after surcharges and tax but not including the spendling limit program. My old att was 3 lines 1 with unlimited data and 200 text and it was 102 after tax and surcharges and we had 2500 rollover minutes. So i got another 2 weeks and a half to decide if sprint kills my chances with the evo or not.

Verizon adds a bunch of crap too, to my surprise.

I hate these companies.

2 year contracts + hidden charges = unethical.

They aren't hidden fees, they are primarily fed and state taxes. They are there in clear writing. You can read can't you, youngin'?

I got my first bill as well it was $193.00 why was that I wonder. I have the everything plan unlimited plus the handset coverage. I was told my monthly bill would be $133.00

My bill was exactly what I expected for the first bill. First bill is ALWAYS more than any other bill because of activation fees, and pro rating, plus they always add on the month in advance, and that is with any phone company, and I have used them all. It WILL get better next bill if you don't buy a lot of apps/subscriptions. Those add up too.

Keep track of your bills. Corp discounts take 1-3 billing cycles to show up, but you can still get credited for the months that it did not appear. You should be able to get the activation fee dropped immediately though.

Not fun to make a call or do via Sprint Chat, but they can be corrected easily.

They waived 25% of my activation fee over the phone. The system wouldn't allow them waive the entire fee because of my corporate discount? I guess something is better than nothing and technically, the fee IS part of the contract.

If you don't have a corporate discount, the CS rep made it sound like it would have been easier to waive the entire fee. If you have a discount through your employer, get Sprint to waive the activation fee before letting them know about the discount.

Do people not understand that your first bill includes:
1 FULL MONTH OF SERVICE and
1 PARTIAL MONTH OF SERVICE and
possibly ACTIVATION FEE
and that your discount may take a few billing cycles to show up?

It's like that with EVERY SINGLE CARRIER IN THE COUNTRY! Why bitch about it when Sprint does the same thing? At least with sprint, it takes 1 phone call or email and they take money off your bill, just for complaining. geez

How are you people getting your first bill so quickly? I got my phone on the 7th and have not received any bill yet.

Al companies have different billing dates. They don't want to bill everyone on the same day. They may bill 4 times during the month and your time hasn't come up yet.

I bought my phone on the 4th and my first bill was on the 7th (3 days later). My billing cycle is on the 7th of every month. Someone else might be the 15th or 30th of the month. The longer it takes the bigger your FIRST bill will be. You might be billed for 2 months on your first bill. The month you completed and the next month. They always bill AHEAD 1 month.

Your first bill will be from the day you got the phone to the end of that billing cycle (prorated if less than 1 full month) PLUS the entire following month (plus all taxes).

I don't understand why so many people don't comprehend how this works (pro-rate current month plus the next month).

I've never paid an activation, or upgrade fee with sprint on any of my 4 lines in 10 years,, they will waive it.

Also dont know how people compare the rates to att, they wanted like $75 more then what i pay now, samething with verizon (although i do get a credit on my bill, but still about $50 chaper with more features)

Although, for somereason i think at times the prorated is wrong, if anything changes, i need to call and explain it to them. they have always corrected any of the mistakes though.

My bill was $98 for the first month. They waived my activation fee as an iPhone owner conquest courtesy.

Just finally got my first bill, i'm charged for 1 1/2 months of usage. I ordered online through sprint and saw that i was charged 3 times for activation fee. That was stupid because going through sprint.com helps waive the activation fee already when you check out. Had to deal with CSR but anyways I think i'm happy with the overall outcome.

25$ Credit for my phone being late
150$ Credit for using code "Save50" on three phones
5$ credit for paperless statements
75$ check from studentrate
3x screen protectors from studentrate

could it get any better ;D

For the record, the representative told me that they can waive activation fee if you ordered EVO online through Sprint store.

They made an "exception" with my case.

I love the classic "one time courtesy" favors they seem to never keep track of :congrats:gotta Love that!
