Root first time rooting, need helpp

hello, my name is dustin and i have the htc desire from us cellular. the software version is 2.11.573.5 and hboot is 1.06.0000. I was trying to follow the guide on here for unrevoked but apparently my phone is too new for it. so how do i go about doing it? thanks.

I went to that page and it sounds harder than the other method.

Unfortunately thats the only method. Just read it a few times and follow it to the letter. Try not to skim read it. Its no harder than using unrevoked to be honest

i went to the revolutionary page and downloaded the fastboot drivers, the "zipfile", and revolutionary itself. but there are no directions/procedure! whats the steps? haha. i mainly just want to remove all the stupid bloatware that came on my phone.

It's really simple.

First, get the hboot drivers on your pc through the unrevoked guides.
Also through that guide decide what erase size you are and download amonra recovery if you're 40000.
Also read the fastboot guide and make sure you can run that by opening up the cmd command.
Download the root file from the revolutionary website and put it on your SD card.
Run revolutionary (extract zip and run program) and follow prompts. If your 20k erase size then have the revolutionary software install clockwork recovery, if 40k, say no to it.

You should now be s-off but not rooted.
If you have no recovery yet, boot into fastboot, open cmd on pc and type fastboot flash recovery c:/recoveryxyz where the c:/ ..... Is the location and name of your anon-ra file.

Once you have recovery, boot into that from hboot, and chose option to load a zip. Pick your root zip you downloaded onto sdcard, and once dine you reboot and youre rooted and soff!

i got it flashed, but when i go into the clockwork menu and try to select anything in the list a screen just pops up that says revolutionary. nothing happens, the only i can do is press the power button and it goes to the main menu. did i miss something?

in that guide the problem occurs at section 4, step 2. grr

nevermind, solved it. the video/guide says to use volume and power button. on the desire you have to use the trackball and back arrow. worked like a charm!
