Root Fission 2.1 final

From Angdroid over at XDA

Fission 2.2.1 is done and people who donated and/or help test will be emailed the links in a couple of hours. You do not need to donate to get 2.2.1, just to clear up the confusion. People who donated get it first, my way of giving back to them. Also this helps find any last minute bugs that may pop up and it is easier to fix with a small amount of users than a mass release on the forums. People who donated also get any future apps that will appear on market for free and direct email if you need any help.

Yeah, those bastards! LOL! looks like i know what my evening will be consumed with.

Place the apk file on your sdcard, open root explorer and go into your sdcard, find the apk file, long press on it and select "copy". Press back once and then go into system and then app, press menu and then "paste". If it doesn't paste press the R/W button on the top right and "paste" it again. Do not press install. Then long press on the apk file and select "change permissions". Put a check mark in the first 2 boxes next to "User" and a check mark in the first box next to "Groups" and "Others". Then just restart your phone.

Thanks very much! I tried it earlier but then the whole app started to force close. Which is why I tried to do the sbf that failed on me. Maybe I will try to sbf again this weekend when I have time. Or I may wait for 2.2.1 and then just do what I did before, and hope that some of my problems will go away.

Edit: He beat me to it!

No problem thank you very much for your help!

I donated earlier today, but did not get any links to the new version. Is there an email address I can email the dev at?

The blackout preview theme works on 2.2.1, as does the clock removal and the round battery mod from earlier in this thread. I got my email about 2 and had to wait for the kids to go to sleep so I could walk up to the landlords house to use his wifi, otherwise it would still be downloading. I sure am glad that javroch's black preview theme still works cause the blackout that came with the rom was hideous.

This rom is amazing. 2.2.1 is like totally stock android and I love it. Reminds me of my Nexus One.

+1 aldo. I noticed that after flashing 2.2.1 the redraws going back home took waay to long. I tried the local.prop edit and that didn't fix it. So I went into settings and did a factory reset and now it's all good. Love it so far. Just trying to get everything back to looking good.

I personally like to wait a few days to see if there are bugs that crop up.
thank you donators, for being guinea pigs ;D

What are the improvements over 2.1?

2.1 -> 2.2.1
Started with clean 2.3.20 D2 Base & DX 2.3.15
Removed all Blur related files that are no longer needed, not just apps but files within framework, lib, etc and other places.
Upgraded core system files to Android 2.2.1 Generic build. Did not use the leaked 2.2.1 VZW files yet. Done for a reason and you will find out later.
Upgarded almost all Apps to Android 2.2.1 version and VZW apps to the latest versions.
Removed Memo.apk and Notepad.apk
Removed all overclock related files.

Got my links this morning yay!

Question: I see two different zip files for the ROM. Which one are you guys using? The file sizes are a bit different but both are labeled with the same name.

Thanks!

Cool, ill have to try it out, although I kinda like the LVM OC profile on fission 2.1, all the others caused problems for me eventually. Nothing like Having the GPS freeze up on the way to concert, not that it was hard to switch back though.

How can I get the Blur camcorder back? The noise reduction profiles are excellent with it. I don't see anything in the FISSION folder.

When i updated my fission folder was untouched. i applied the ulv oc profile, the DC camera, and the fission blackout preview all with great success.

There should be a DXcamera.zip file in the Fission folder. Just boot into recovery, press mount system, then navigate to the Fission folder and select the DXcamera.zip.

if you were on a previous fission build they ask that you delete the fission folder on the sdcard to ensure all the new files are placed from the new build. some people that did not delete the folder are not getting the newer files like 3g mobile hotspot.

one is for DX and the other is for D2

I'm such an idiot.

Note to self, do not work on phone or download files when I've had no coffee and am lacking sleep!

I saw the hotfix folder as well. Looks like just the keyboard?

Thank you again sir!
