Root Fission 2.1 final

Did an SBF today yay! Not sure what was up the other day. My PC at home Windows 7 x64 bit worked flawlessly!

Installing 2.2.1 now!

you will love it. :)

I think I will too!

Tom, quick question if you don't mind. I know you don't use the DX stock keyboard but thought you may help.

As you know, after the install of Fission it creates the folder for Add ons and OC on your SD card. I saw in the Add on folder that it contains the DX keyboard file. However there is the DX keyboard Hotfix on the download site. Do I install the add on for the DX keyboard that came with 2.2.1 and then the hotfix, or just install the hotfix for the keyboard itself.

Thanks!

not sure. i would do the one in the folder then do the hot fix to be safe. ;)

Ok, so how are you guys getting the hotspot to work? I installed from the folder and installed the nv patch but it wont get on the internet, only local. It connects to the computer but will not go any farther than that. What am I missing?:(

did you use the TBH patch? try it with no security.

Got it installed earlier today. Its snappy. Quadrant scores are lower than apex. Battery life does not seem as good either. Im also missing the voice button on the keyboard.

Thoughts anyone?

my quadrant was around 1700, battery life is great. (did you Wipe Battery Stats
& Wipe Delvik Cache as per new install guide)?
add Mic in the KB settings.

Really? Wow, mine is hanging in the 1300's. Are you running OC on your install? Yep I wiped battery stats and dalvik cache for sure.

What setting do you mean? I have pretty much everything checked in the kb settings and no mic.

OK maybe I will install jummy's app. Tis easy to setup? Its in the market right? I've run the OC that comes with Fission. Is there any way to undo it?

I may email him about the lack of a mic in the DX keyboard. Thanks as always Tom.

i think jrummys app will just overwrite it but not 100% sure. but it is so easy to use and a beautiful looking app. just don't use the set at boot til you know you have a good setting.

Quick question for everyone: I'm rooted and ready to go. Followed all directions to install Fission 2.1 and went the phone rebooted, it's back to stock. Any clues why? I followed everything. I suppose I can SBF the phone, but is it necessary since I'm not bricked? By the way, there were no errors during installation. Very strange...

Thanks!

its pretty user friendly. the scaling frequency is where you choose the voltage level then select the overclock of your liking.

Is there a safe voltage level though without sacrificing harming the hardware? Not to mention killing battery life. I will maybe check it out tomorrow. My phone is charging for the night right now. BTW did a restore to when I installed Fission earlier today. I think that should have gotten rid of the Fission OC that I was using.

Thanks again Tom for all of your help!

Thank you. Is there a tutorial on now to set this up initially?

Start with ULV at 1.1 and if it's stable, try the next step, 1.15. Don't just bump it to 1.45 and expect it to work. Do NOT set it to boot until you know it's stable. Quadrant can be used to check if it's stable, although I prefer SetCPU (info... stress test). If you can run the stress test for 20 minutes without problems, you have a candidate for boot IMO. Staying at ULV will improve your battery life. I see no reason to use LV unless ULV will not run at 1.00 and using medium voltage or higher is asking for trouble.

That's really weird. I've never heard of that. I guess try doing it again and you will know it's fission by the blue swirly background. The about phone screen with look stock though just FYI

start low with a LV or ULV then work your way up. ULV should give you the best battery life if your phone can handle it.

I thought it was strange too. I decided to SBF my phone and I'm almost done attempting to install Fission again. Will report back either way.

Thanks!

Ok, got it loaded and at first my phone wouldn't activate, but a quick reboot solved that problem. So far, so good. Thanks again.

Tom, would you say there is any advantage to using the dx/d2 oc app vs flashing the built in oc with fission (I still have 2.1's profiles) I'm happy running the stock clock plus ULV as it is. And is there a way to check the current clock speeds and vsel with terminal or something to make sure the old profile worked??
