Well, sadly my N7 screen has risen again. This time it almost seems to be lifting further from the center too. Time to begin the exchange![]()
Damn, and I just linked to your post for another member as it looked promising.

Maybe some extra heat would do the trick, but still. I'm absolutely sure that this is a major defect in the black screen bezel. I thought that the rise was only caused by extreme heat in a UPS truck, but this happened in a 75 degree room.Damn, and I just linked to your post for another member as it looked promising.
Well I called in for an exchange. Very helpful guy was impressed by my efforts to fix the screen lol. At this point I would suggest that anyone who has the screen lift just do the exchange with the Play Store before you have to go through Asus because they only pay one way shipping. It's really no sweat off your back to do an exchange since you can keep the defective one until your new one arrives. Heck even the return shipping is paid by Google.
Yeah good luck with the in store stockThat was a slight concern for me which is why I'm doing my exchange through a "real" store. If they ever get any more damn stock, that is.
Well you're not going to be able to use the play store to do an exchange if that's what you're saying. Asus would be your last resort for a warranty repair. I just don't trust them. They seem reluctant to honor their warranties based off what I've seen from other ownersYea, they told me 30th July but now saying 10th August but I have a feeling that might change again :-(
Looks like I might have to go the play route after all.
Always good to hear another perspective. This is my first Asus purchase so I didn't really have any personal experience with their products first hand, only stories. Oh btw Jay, how well is the glass sticking down?I've owned a good number of Asus products ranging from cases to netbooks to video cards to motherboards, and in my experience they're very decent on honoring warranties. I've sent back a pair of video cards, a motherboard, and a case for repairs and never had an issue. The motherboard was even out of warranty and they fixed it with no hassle.. Of course, they wouldn't cross ship a replacement because it was out of warranty, but I got the same board back with a replaced north bridge free of charge (well, I had to pay shipping)
Did they give you an eta for the new one?
