Root [FIXED!!4-12]Root+recovery on 4.1.2 without downgrade

Of course my awesome luck prevented the fix from working. I installed using twrp and it flashed then came up with an error saying it lost root. So it tried to fix it and froze. I rebooted phone and checked root and it seemed fine. I then tried to install the file again and then it froze during the process. So I rebooted to see if it worked and still no wifi. Oh well, I will wait for your new one click to try or I will use your other method to get root on this phone and see if that will get the wifi to work. Thanks for all your hardwork Billard412..its greatly appreciated!!!!

Can anyone else back this. I only ask cuz this post is my only feedback so far and I can't see why it would've froze. Also ignore what twrp says about root. Its not broken

And for those trying to tether. I promise the JB update across TONS of phones broke foxfi. To do it. First head to the playstore and update supersu. Then download and install busybox. Then head here WifiTether_TrevE_Mod_11_22_2012.apk | by TrevE for Galaxy S 3_VZW and use that apk. In the settings change your device to galaxy s3. Uncheck disable wakelock at the bottom. Do not use encryption or touch any other settings.
It says it's working but my ipad doesn't pick it up... Any ideas?

Hackz I had the same problem, couldnt get the binary to update on superuser. I ended up upgrading superuser using twrp.

Seems to be working good. Thanks Billard412 you are the MAN!!!!!! Now that I got everything working right , I need something else to stress me out!!!! LOL!!!! Ever need anyone to try something out...just let me know!!!!

You got it. Expect some stuff soon. The sprint s3 just got premium suite. Ill be working on porting it. Also thanks again for testing triangle away, got around to trying it myself and based on the fact that it works perfect gives me hope that this fcker will get its unlocked bootloader one way or another

The program doesn't seem to be seeing my phone. I'm in download mode, but no progress bar or anything, and the program, after running, says 0 succeeded, 0 failed. Ami I doing something wrong?

Make sure you're in download mode and odin is open before you plug your phone in. Also make sure usb debugging is turned on

Usb debugging is not necessary. Usb debugging is only needed when the phone is booted up and your trying to do something via adb. If you're in download mode and the phone is not being seen remove the cable and reinsert it

I didn't see this until today, but I wanted to say that so far the new update seems to work.
I want to point out I am not 100% sure it is perfect.
Once I got my WiFi back and turned on, it took a bunch of toggling onand off and switching between different routers that I had reliable WiFi. For a while it would start to download, stop and when I refreshed the page, it would fail to load.

Same for WiFi tethering. It took a while but now it seems OK.

I will report back if the wonkiness returns but for now, I do have WiFi and tethering with the latest (4/12) version.

Thanks!!!!
