Root Fixed hoo-ray!!!

Problem fixed thanks to the boys over at the IRC. I was gonna delete the post too, but someone else may gain knowledge from it. So I'll leave it up till it gets pushed outta the way.

DO NOT DO ANY TYPE OF FACTORY RESET WHILE YOU HAVE CWM!!!

That's all I have to say about that...

And thanks again Shabby...

So I tried doing a factory reset on my phone (it was a suggestion in regards to my ringtone issues), it booted into cwm so I'm thinking I can just do a reset from there (as I've done on all my previous phones w/cwm) so I wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition and wipe dalvik cache, then I select reboot system now and the phone boots right back into cwm, I think "Oh No!" so I go into backup/restore and select restore, cwm runs through "restore complete!" hit reboot and it goes right back into cwm. I tried http://androidforums.com/connect-4g...wnload-mode-soft-brick-fix-bootanimation.html but the updater just say's my phone is already updated and won't allow me to update. This is the 2nd Connect I have had, when I got this one the rep told me that these models already have the zv9 update on them, so I'm thinking I'm out of luck with the LG updater trick. I tried wiping the phone numerous times, restoring the phone numerous times and even the LG updater numerous times. Is there anyway I can get my phone back?? Please help!!

I mentioned that I tried using the lg updater numerous times with no luck, updater tells me "The Cell phone is the latest version already. So you don't need to update." So I get no update option, when I go into phone recovery option I enter the imei # and what looks like an update begins to run and stops at around 40% then tells me "Model not supporting S/W update" (which is weird because I'm trying to recover my phone, not update it) and suggests that I select the contact option for LG mobile software update online. Which pretty much leads me nowhere.

Note that I tried a manual hard factory reset and the phone just looped back in cwm.

EDIT: Also note that when I connect to the LG tool and I'm not in d/l mode the tool say's I can update, so I attempt to update but at around 30% I get a message saying to "Problem with communication between cell & PC, please disconnect the cable from your cell in order((????)) and remove and connect the battery. Power on your cell and press restart to resume update" So I unplug and restart which does absolutely nothing but start a loop of that option until it eventually tells me my device is already updated..

used.CWM to restore your pho ....you have installed on your pho...CWM ??????

Ok Orko try this open lg updater after make sure your phone is off you will need to get the IMEI which should be in your box, when the lg mobile support tool is opened click customer support ->Recovery phone-> enter IMEI and the click check, now on your phone hold vol+ and vol- , then plug it into the pc while holding the 2 keys for download mode, after just click OK I believe and then it will start checking the phone and it will find it and it will download the recovery, now this will reset your phone to factory settings, one more thing NEVER USE HARDWARE KEYS TO ENTER TO CWM, use rom manager, or terminal to boot into it, I hope this helps, which it has to help I had the same issue and it works.

It gets as far as connecting, starts analyzing then gets about 40% into it and then I get an error message saying "Model not supporting S/W Update". I've been at this since 7am over off and on the irc trying to figure this any which way I can. I've even tried in the recovery options to enter the phone model and the s/n instead of using the imei and get another error message saying check the model name and msn again.

Well it should be Using the IMEI make sure your device is in download mode, so far that worked with me

I've tried that and I'm pretty sure I'm in d/ld mode when I'm doing it. I get a screen that reads "Download mode do not unplug usb"

ShabbyPenguin and Markolo both suggested that I need K0nane's help with this one. But while I wait for him to come around I'll try just about any option to try and fix this.

all fixed

turns out whenever you perform a reset or attempt to the phone startys to boot and checks each partition for integrity, it sees cwm and knows that is wrong so it fails to boot further.. by flashing stock recovery on there you fix the boot order and boots just fine :)

had similar issue with the revo/esteem but it was only when attempting to do a factory reset from settings. Doing it while booted into CWM worked fine. our fix was a exitrecovery.zip thecubed did that does something to the misc partition.

using dd, im working on fixing up the cwm installer to incorperate it. not sure if i wanna gear towards a cwm flashable zip or using dd and having ot run the script.. both have their pros and cons :/

causes cwm bootloop:

*settings>privacy>factory data reset
*vol- and power (hardware keys)

note: always use rom manager, rom toolbox or similar to boot into cwm recovery

Go to the cwm thread and d/l the link that says cwm loop fix place that file on your sd card and run that in cwm.

only do this if you are cwm bootlooping. If your phone wont boot normally dont do this

then you end up with now way to get anything back on there ;)
