Root Flash cm7

Md5 is a way to check the integrity of a download by comparing that big long string of numbers. You need to check the md5 of the exact file that you flashed and make sure it matchez the one listed wherever you downloaded it.

the md5 for both roms match up perfectly.

But for the radio I cannot check the md5 file on my sd because i deleted it off. When i went to check it on my computer it says no items match in your search.

For the record, i only flashed the rom for the rooted rom, and not the radio with it in that thread per scottys recommendation. i did not flash the radio with it in that thread.

ok 3G just started working on its own lol. Time to flash cm7 in 30mins or so after i'm sure 3G stays on.

Thanks for all the help and will keep you guys updated. talk about weird.

Per the baseband you posted earlier you were on that radio. I believe we had told you to flash it yesterday at some point.

I am glad to hear that, I would guess that VZW had an issue with the towers in your area or something, hopefully it will stay on for you.

its actually not so wierd to me. a few weeks ago i lost all my data. only way i could get anything was to toggle "cdma only" and then id get 1x. no other mode,no 3g,no 4g... i did everything but stand on my head. flashed new radios, restored different backups where data worked, rebooted, toggled everything i could think of and nothing.

called verizon "no towers are fine. no network issues in dayton" grrr... got home, put on a stock rom and called vzw back and jumped thru their hoops and they offered me a charge or another TB since it was obviously broken.

MR2 came out that night. pulled hboot and recovery from the leaked version and flashed it. still no data unless i toggled cdma only, and then only 1x. went to bed with it still not working.

the next day it was like nothing ever happend. i left the house and wifi handed over to 1x() i toggled cdma/evdo auto and bam! there was 3g. after a few minutes of it not disapearing, i checked 4g,it was there... back to 3g,check... everything still working...

long story short(yeah i know, maybe too late :o) its been fine ever since. i called verizon and was honest about the old one working now and offered to send back the new one.

i think that some really wierd quirk maybe makes them "stick" in a certain mode, regardless of the network settings. i kind of thot this may be what was going on when you woke up and it still wasnt working, but theres no way to prove or disprove, and the only solution is "wait" so i wanted to make sure we tried everything else we could think of before i mentioned this possibility. i have noticed that the phone will hold its network settings thru reboots, and even new rom flashes  wich seems to somewhat add some support to the theory.

maybe you had the same/similar thing goin that i did, maybe not... but at any rate im glad it worked out finally and you should be able to bo back to enjoying cm7. just to be on the same side,id make sure that you have working 3g,and the network settings to cdma/evdo auto when you boot to recovery to make your backup of the rooted OTA and restore cm7. ;)

I think we tried everything we could think of and then some more. I love it when we try to help someone and the problem gets resolved (regardless if our help actually helped) and they tell us it got fixed, much more than when someone just gives up and never comes back :D

hey you guys have been great and its much appreciated. I dont post much but i def lurk. I'm a member of other Mb's and post like crazy. I dont here because as you can tell most this stuff is over my head.

But once you do things once you learn and its not so bad. I know for me I ask before I do because I dont want to break the thing and be out the $100 insurance claim when i break it.

Either way I appreciate it guys. So far things have been working pretty well. 3G isn't as good as it was pre-flash but i wont complain because it is working.

One last question, will I ever have to update this rom? And when i do do i have to wipe everything then flash, or can i just update?

Thanks again and i really appreciate your patience with me. it was much appreciated. I was in a bind and couldnt have figured it out without you guys. Thank you very much.

Well you wont have to update but you may wish to. You would wipe cache, data, and dalvik cache before flashing but after a backup. If you back up all user apps with titanium before doing anything you won't lose data and will just need to sign into Google and go restore

When I rooted yesterday night, I found out that after I flashed the MR2 OTA radio on top of stock root image, I lost all cell service. Thankfully I was still able to use wifi to download a couple of apps that I needed before flashing CM7. Basically, what I'm trying to say is that the stock image that you root with doesn't like the MR2 OTA radio but once you flash CM7 over it, you'll be fine.

Good luck, following the walkthrough on XDA isn't as daunting as it seems and the IRC channel they give for help is pretty well staffed.

Did you remove the .zip file from your SD card before you flashed CM7 over it? I'm having the same issue but wanted to be sure before I foul something up.

***nevermind chief, I got it***
