Root Flash went wrong on desire - help !

gnirtS

Newbie
I had a rooted 2.2 desire (no other mods) installed via clockword mode. The phone detected an OTA update today with "market update" which i downloaded and installed. It seemed to work in that it verified and installed but it didnt work.

Now my phone just boots TO HTC logo, resets itself and repeats constantly so its bricked.

How do i fix this? Im guessing i need to download a new rom from somewhere, if so, where from?
Also how am i going to get a working ROM on this now i cant boot into the operating system at all?

Its an unbranded, unlocked HTC desire (from three uk if it matters).

Fast response would be appreciated!

theres loads of threads on this
never install an ota on a rooted rom

to fix it you just flash an RUU of the rom you are on from shipped-roms
or you can boot to clockworkmod, wipe and then flash a custom rom

to clarify then you need to ensure that ensure that system software updates/scheduled check is not enabled?
I've just updated the market, (but I wasn't notified) it just did it when I was updating some apps..
I haven't done an OTA update have I?

Its been documented that when the phone gets the boot loop, updating from android hboot menu with the same ota renamed as update.zip can fix the issue.
