On websites and forums where there are youtube videos embedded on it, the playback is not very smooth. It jumps slightly.

How do I fix this, or this normal?

You will find an improvement when froyo 2.2 becomes available, as that has full flash capabilities where as 2.1 only has flash lite.
You can if you can't wait go the rooting way.

Just to double check, can other froyo users see if they have this problem.

To test, there is a video on this link. Could you play it and tell me how it peforms? Drove the G-Power BMW M5 Hurricane RR V10 bi-kompressor / twin supercharged with 800 HP - The Unofficial BMW M5 Messageboard (m5board.com)

when i try it i get the box up saying do i want to view it through htc flash palyer or youtube app.choose youtube and its perfect mate.this is on a normal 2.1 desire

I guess either we are more helpful here, or on the other hand perhaps we need to get out more lol.

Tried that same video straight on the pc, it does jump in a few places there too but not as much as on the phone.
Still it is quite impressive what the phone is capable of.

I am using froyo its the neophyte rom, nice responsive one too.

Ok, im using the modaco R5 ROM.

Lastly, are you using any task killers? If so, can you help me out here, http://androidforums.com/htc-desire/136629-task-killer-not-killing-apps.html

I want to see if other froyo roms are the same. Could you read post 10 and do a quick test on your phone?
