Root Flashed modded ClockworkMod Recovery, now it's dead... or not?

First off, if there was indeed another thread covering this topic I apologize, it's late, I'm tired, and to be honest, mildly concerned for my sleeping monster. I pray it's not bricked.

This is officially my first android phone and the rooting process has been a blast, finding all of the fun things the community has contributed to this phenomenon has been very enlightening.
However my problem is a little less complicated, I hope. I have had the Samsung Infuse 4G rooted for about a week now and have not done much else until this evening, Using a combination of ES File Explorer (free), and ROM Manager (free) I attempted to install the modded ClockworkMod Recovery, first by downloading the modded recovery file directly to my workstation and then proceeded to copy the file to my SD card. As you can probably guess, using ES-FE I renamed the current recovery to "recovery.old" and then copied the new version to the /system/bin and confirmed both files coexisted. I then entered ROM Manager and proceeded to allow the program to Flash ClockworkMod Recovery, I believe the version was 2.1.5.4 (I could definitely be wrong as I can't check at the moment). Once completed and confirmed I clicked "Reboot into Recovery" and here I sit with a solid black screen reading "Samsung" ...and not much else.

Ideas or advice is GREATLY appreciated, life just isn't the same without this beast.

Thanks in advance!

yes, an easy problem indeed. do not worry, your phone is not permanently bricked.

try pulling the battery and rebooting. it should reboot normally.

if not, you will have to odin back to stock, do a factory reset, and re-root (go to the XDA infuse thread, under the development section, and look for the ODIN post).

here was your problem - you did not adjust the permissions on your new recovery file!

if you long-press on your original recovery file, you will see some sort of permissions option. note the permissions in your old recovery file, and then COPY THOSE EXACTLY on your new recovery file!

easy as that - you will be up and running in no time. good luck!

you have no idea how many times I forget to change those :p

original permissions should be something along the lines of
read check user. group. and others
write check user
execute check user. group.others

that is what mine is right now
