Root flashing a new rom

hi guys

My hero bricked on me - when i hold down power & back keys i get in to a screen with the 3 androids on skateboards, can I flash a fresh rom from this screen? and if so - How?

It's not 'bricked' - that's the fastboot menu, accessed by that key combo. Just pull the battery then restart normally.

Battery pull dont work - the phone just wont boot, I get the hero logo on startup then the screen turns dark grey and then thats it! apart from the htc boot tune ( every 30 seconds ) I can get in to the fastboot screen with the on&back key push

Have you got any ideas Slug or is it new phone time?

How did it happen, Frank? Did you do anything just prior or did it occur out of the blue?

The phones rooted with androot, and Im lead to believe ( by my little brother ) he thinks he installed a hero Sprint app - My phones a gsm on 3 network uk - The program he installed needed su permission, if that helps!

If an errant app is the cause, a factory reset will get rid of it. Power the handset up while pressing HOME + BACK and it should give the option to reset.

And in the future, make sure to avoid anything Sprint or CDMA related like the plague.
