Root Flashing ROM advice

Hey just another quick question. I am wondering what are some good ROM's to run on my phone, and what is a good way to flash a ROM onto my EVO? Another quick question and my last one. It might sound dumb but when I flash a ROM do I lose all my contacts and data, and if I dont how do I put my data back on to my phone? Thanks for all the help. (Will push thanks button)

Try Myn's ROM in my sig. It is sense based so it will be familiar and there are TONS of peope running that ROM, so you can find a lot of information on these forums. I'm not saying it is the end all, be all for ROMs, but it is a good place to start for the reasons I noted.

As for HOW to do it? I would read over Matlock's thread a couple of times. That will be the best single source of information. It is the "Rooting for dummies" thread stickied at the top.

In short, though, you usually need to wipe data when changing to different ROMs, so you will lose your contacts. BUT, if you use Titanium Backup, you can save all of your contacts, apps, settings, etc. and restore them all after flashing a ROM. Buy the pro version for batch operations and you will save yourself some time and boredom.

Thanks for all the help! Just a quick question sorry if I sound dumb but could I use the Nand backup instead of buying the titanium backup or could I just use the free version(Sorry of sounding cheap) Thanks

I am considering flashing myns rom, but does everything work? ive heard of some roms that the camera does not work or hdmi etc.? Im looking for a rom with great battery life.

All sense based ROM's typically have everything working (ie: 4g, hdmi, etc.), AOSP ROM's typically do not have 4g or hdmi.
