Root Flashing ROMs

Hmm ok because its weird...fastboot does say finished, but switching to CWM from the HBoot screen gets me stuck on the white HTC screen. And I used CWM 2.5.0.7 from your dropbox links, and I'm 20000 also. But nvm this, I'll just go with RA recovery :)

BTW: this is after just flashing, then erase>flash. Dunno why. I'll check to see if fastboot can flash CWM 5.

RESULT: K this is weird...both CWM 2.5.0.7 and RA doesn't work > white HTC screen and hangs there...
Can I use CWM 2.5.0.7 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=9207285 ? Doesn't say if it's for BravoC but I don't think there would be a problem...
If all doesn't work, guess I'll have to try again with CWM 5 or go with CWM 3 :P

RESULT, again: CWM 5 works :|
This is really frustrating...maybe it's cause my phone's from Cox Wireless it might be different than the rest from Cellular?

Confirmation: None of the recoveries, except from CWM 5, works. Flashed all of them via fastboot, after erase, didn't work. when i tried CWM 5, twice, worked perfectly.

So any suggestions?

Update: I think the problem is more with the card, not the Recovery not recognizing it. I tried GParted, then reboots phone. The phone even tells me to reformat. And I was back to 7.5 GB, but then how doesn't my phone recognize GParted's partitions? Should I try EaseUS then?

Or should I just manually partition with adb? Then do the alignment zip?

Another try got me to partitioned the sdcard, with CWM recognizing it. But then, it doesn't recognize the ext partition, and just acts like there's nothing. Even wrote the backup in the ext part...

So this is what I'm doing correct me if I'm wrong thanks:

1- Partitioned 1 GB in card already in EXT4, and windows can't read this, so formatted entirely into FAT32 using SD Formatter.
2- GParted:
_~6 GB of primary, FAT32
_1024 MB of primary, EXT4
Shows up nicely.
3- Shut down GParted. PC detects. Even PC says 6.5 GB drive. Success.
4- Phone still think it's EXT4...

It shouldn't be SD Formatter, as after I partitioned with CWM, phone says 6.5 GB of space, used SD Formatter and GParted detected 7.5 GB, PC confirms this.

Maybe I should delete all the partitions, so that I've everything unallocated?

Update: So i don't know if this is it but i'm telling you anyways just to make sure. Not my first flashing, but certainly first partitioning attempt :)

So, I've reformatted with the Windows's Disk Tool, FAT32. Didn't do anything yet. Rebooted. Phone took it. Nice clean 7.5 GB. Then rebooted back into CWM.
In GParted, it shows a clean 7.5 GB FAT32. Couldn't resize, so I chose Delete > New
Created a new, ~6.5 FAT32 primary partition. Then chose the unallocated 1 GB prepared for EXT4, when it says "Not possible to create more than one primary partition"
That's the thing.
To pass this, I would have had to apply the changes, THEN do the unallocated part, which I think must be the problem? As in they should have been done in 1 attempt, not 2 (apply, then continue on EXT4)
Thanks for having bear with my troubles.

I would delete all partitions and apply.

Create new FAT32 partition and apply. Resize FAT32 and apply. Format the newly sized FAT32 to FAT32 and apply

Create new EXT4 and apply. Reformat the EXT4 as EXT4 and apply.

So basically doing 1 thing, and apply right away, then moving to the next, instead of putting changes to everything then apply once?

Also, is there a tool for windows that formats the sd card, getting all the partitions back in 1 chunk? Because what happens a lot is, the phone stopped recognizing the sd card, and would only accept a partitioning job done by itself (CWM 5). But then, after it's done, my computer, being a Windows 7, could not recognize its EXT4 partition, and even GParted couldn't get all the partitions back in one piece. Tried Disk Managament, SD Formatter and as I said before, GParted. Have been forced to use all of the above, often times over and over again, until something works and I get my full 8 GB sd card back to partition again. A tool that is powerful enough to formats the card back would be great.

PS: Still stuck on the card partitioned with CWM 5 with 125 MB(I chose this because I couldn't format it back, so this minimal partition was best for space) EXT3.

Firstly get rid if cwm 5. Windows can't see second partitions on sd, but easeus will. However, don't recommend using Windows apps to format Linux partitions so this is why Gparted is best. Try 4ext recovery then the steps mentioned above

If you use 4ext recovery then you dont need to even use gparted, as 4ext is is able to create ext3/4 partitions at multipul sizes with different or no swap

Depends how you look at it.

You have never needed to use gparted.

If you have 4ext and you want a decent partition, use gparted. Why? Because all recoveries use SD parted. Sd parted is OK but as you can tell from the name, it is not Gparted.

Why is gparted better? Control, flexibility, the fact that it automatically aligns partitions.

The fact that i didnt mention using 4ext for making the partition means that I do not recommend it,. I recommend (as always) gparted.

This is true Gparted it a lot more control and there is a lot more you can format too,, although when formatting an ext4 partition is does automatically align it

does 4ext have a free version? And thanks for your help, really appreciate it seriously, but I think it's more like the dumb card won't work. Took it out of the phone yesterday, and noticed it didn't mention the class on it, which means its a class 2. No wonder it's so slow, and it's probably why there's been problems. Think i'd get a 16 GB class 10. I'm buying on amazon.com, and choosing between Lexxar and Samsung. Any suggestions?

I would recommend a class 6, thats what i have and it is definitely fast enough, and i have also heard of people having problems with class 10 cards in their desires

And yes 4ext is free, and they also have a new touch version of the recovery

does it?
i know it uses sdparted which doesnt auto align. the alignment part of the recovery is scripted and these scripts have had problems.
were not trying to be awkward. its saving heart ache
