Root flashing to a different carrier...

long time no post, but i'm still around, (for those who may remember me...;)) contract is finally up with sprint so i've been searching around for my best option for flashing to a prepaid service... i love my evo now just as much as the day i got it... staying old school for the time being, the evo does everything i want and need a phone to do... ok, now to get to my thread topic.... after a relentless search i found a local "mom & pop" cellular shop that flashes phones... asked about flashing to boost and they said they could flash it to pagepluscellular... decided to wait and researched this carrier... (never heard of it before)... come to find out they use verizon towers... i was very surprised to see their coverage in my area, much more extensive than sprint/boost... full 3G virtually anywhere in a 60 mile radius... wow is all i can say... i've decided to go with it... just another option out there that maybe be available for some of you... unlimited talk, text, web (up to 2G) for $55 in my area. i don't come close to using 2G a month, even roaming... enough of my rambling, thanks for listening...
 
i have heard of paid plus before, but i do not know too much about them. let us know how it goes and how you like them. are you gonna leave the phone rooted?

are you sure they mean 2 gigbytes of data or do they mean at 2g speeds.
 
ok, update on this pageplus thingy... went ahead and had my phone flashed to P+. in a nutshell, the phone works, but not how i want it to... calls and sms work just fine... the thing that doesn't... :thumbdown: no mms... i have spent a lot of time researching this and have come up empty... my overall data connection is terrible also... i have tried 2 different radio's, 4 different rom's and it's always the same... won't connect, won't connect, won't connect, then it will... frustrating...:banghead: the best combination that works for me is the newest radio and the rooted stock rom... i do believe after my month is up i'm going to activate my old incognito and try my hands at flashing to boost myself... seems that, if done correctly, all things work on boost, and work fine... i just can't justify spending $55/mo for calls, sms and choppy data... i do send alot of pic messages so that is important to me, along with pandora... i finally feel confident enough to use the boost guide and do it myself... another week and i'll give it a go... wish me luck....
