FlashLight that uses Camera Flash

Not bad, but I won't see the warning notice then. :D
Is "button released" supported by Android on a touch screen? Or just press, double tap, longpress? Inquiring minds want to know.
There's plenty of room on the app screen, i don't want to click (app, on, bright, ok) 4 TIMES!?!?!? seriously????

Three buttons on app screen, the on/off, hold for highbeam, and exit. plenty of room for a disclaimer.

Three buttons is fine, whether bright works by holding or just "Bright on" (with it re-dimming via timer).

As far as seeing the disclaimer, if I am holding the button my giant thumb is in the way. :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Has anyone done any battery testing on this app? How many hours of flashlight do I get from a full charge ?

oh now you're just being silly...

Can someone rename this thread to: LED Flashlight- the creation of a sensation

In reference to your widget comment, there's an old saying, "don't criticize what you don't understand". You should learn that one.

Oh, so you are going to bring our disagreement to this thread when I left it alone in the other one? I also politely did NOT throw any stones at you personally here, criticize your app, or even mention your app by name. Trolls should not try to sell apps, they piss off as many customers as they get. For anyone new, the troll is selling an app called MotoTorch Lite, and he does like to argue.

Now some friendly advice to drop it. I have nothing to lose, and you do.

I see that you deleted the 1-star rating(or it isn't showing up anymore). I have deleted my comments in this thread. Sorry if I overreacted.

Dig baby dig.

His app (oops sorry widget) had NO instructions on how to install it at the time I bought it. They do now. It had no way to OPEN it or do anything except return it for refund. Then he chose to attack me personally (and continues to do so) when I offered questions, comments, and suggestions. What was intended to be a discussion and possible learning experience for me (I asked why a widget is better several times) became nothing more than a nasty time. Now he is intent upon boring all of you with this nonsense yet again.

All I asked here was that the developer of LED Flashlight keep an option to install it as an app as well as a widget. The troll takes this as a perosnal attack on him. If the developer of LED Flashlight wishes to know my reasons, I will be happy to discuss them maturely, either on or off-forum.

And I am not going to feed this troll anymore. I have already let him steal WAY too much of my time (and yours if you are reading this). I just ask everyone reading this one question. Do you want someone who acts so childishly and vengefully to be writing applications (sorry widgets) for your phone ? Stick with LED Flashlight. He will likely have a widget version in a few days for those that want one. And he certainly seems more honorable. Or adult.

[end of troll responses]

Yes, my plan is to add a widget to the existing app... It will work just as it does now, plus you will be able to add a widget to the desktop if you wish, like the Weather Channel app.

You will not have to purchase the widget. It will just be an upgrade to LED Flashlight.

All i have to say is this app saved my life today. (I dont want to sound like a pot head) but....I dropped my j between the seat and the console in the car today and my dome light doesn't work and tthis app saved my life!

Chet, Here is a UI suggestion, if you can get all these options to work

+ a widget and you will be the only app needed :)

Can you make the light actually flash?

The original flashlights were called "flash lights" because they would only shine for a few seconds at a time. The flashlights we has as kids had a slider to switch on, but also a button to give a short burst and spring back off. Using the sort bursts could help you around in the dark and it would really conserve battery life. Flashing the at a walking pace or even slower can let you see/plan every footfall. The on time can be very, very short.

I wonder if the voltage profile necessary to light an LED would save much juice if it strobed on and off so quickly.

A variable flash frequency setting would be nice; varying both cycle time and flash time.

I don't think this would be needed for battery life. Someone did a test for a few hours of light on and he only got down to 70% or something. So unless your hiking in the forrest in the middle of the night, I don't think batter life will be an issue.

And stobe lights in the dark have always been disorienting to me.

x2 for this update when all possible...:D

that other widget they have on the store will not get my money...you started this program and I already paid for it...I'm supporting you all the way bro...

I don't understand the need for a slider for led brightness...

some one using this LED Flashlight might not want the light to be so bright...being able to dim the flashlight is handy...really not needed but a cool feature/option to have either way...
