Every time I "manage applications" and select "running" on my Evo (2.2 OS) I find such apps as Stocks, Footprint, flickr running again, when just a few hours earlier I "forced close" them. I called Sprint and they told me to install Advanced Task Killer. Why do these keep running even after closing them? I know I can't uninstall them, but I how do I at least keep them closed?

The will always reopen and the general consensus is they arent hurting anything. Task killers can cause issues if not carefully set up so be careful there. Look into the tips and tricks subforum above this general forum. Check out threads on battery tips and tricks and task killers (why not to use them)
