Help FM Radio App?

zendritic

Lurker
Does the Prevail have a hardware FM receiver, and if so, what do we have to do to listen to the radio on the thing? This website claims that it has FM with RDS. Are they wrong? I have yet to see a review where someone cracks this thing open and looks at the radio chips. This is my first post, I searched here and the internets but did not find the answer to my question. I apologize for any redundancy. Thanks!

Hmmm...website you posted does say that. So I went ahead and tried 2 apps one was

FM TwoO Didn't work. For some reason it would not let me take it out of test mode. Then again on there read me file it does say its for Samsung Galaxy S or sismilar models.

Spirit FM Didn't work. Even after trying all different types of settings config. It was a no go.

The best app I have used is called tune in. Check it out, its free app in the market place, you can get radio stations from all over. It even shows you whats playing on most stations.

That tune in is absolutely great, I love my music I have but I like variety and new.:D

I have this phone and install apps almost everyday. I have to say that TuneIn is good, but local stations like DC 101 have only approved licensing for IheartRadio.

When I try to run the app on this phone, it does not work well, slows it down so bad that either it force closes it, or I have to close it so i can go back to normal operation. It completely hogs the memory and prevents you from multitasking, that's how bad it slows the thing down.

Even though I run all apps from my 16gb class 10 sdhc memory card, I have only 40 megs of phone memory available after installing all the apps I need on a daily basis. I have at least 10 custom apps installed.

I run an app killer that works quite well, but apparently that isn't enough to run iheartradio in a efficient performance manner.

I have a yahoo question open on the issue, so far no responses.
