FM radio, Does it work for you?

Mine works fine using my iPod headphones, but you have to push the plug in all the way. Clear reception here in L.A.

I guess I don't have the TRRS headphones at my desk. Will have to grab a different set and see if I get reception with those.

buy this adapter $.99

Stereo 3.5mm Headphone Headset Adapter for iPhone 2G 3G - eBay (item 260629791157 end time Aug-02-10 06:39:50 PDT)

Thanks for the link. :) I was looking for something like this so see if it fixes the problem. I figure for $.99 with free shipping what do I have to lose... lol

Meh.. This thing would make a lousy radio/music player anyway, given it's battery life.

I started my radio today, battery was at 67% - played for 40 minutes with just phone radio on - no 4G, GPS, wifi, Bluetooth or 3G - and listened through that monobud (hey - it was better than nothing).

At the end of that, I was 66%.

That's pretty common for me. Playing through the little speaker takes a little more juice.

I have a few stereo/mic phone headsets that I've tried with it - it doesn't totally suck at all.

my fm sucks, never finds stations

I feel for you guys with this problem, I really do.

I've always felt that radio was part of our heritage and our entitlement.

After all, broadcasting comes from a farmer's term - to broadly cast seeds by hand - and came from the VERY earliest days when farmers would cobble their transmitters up and just putting out what pleased them on the air - leading eventually to our networks and the government licensing.

So - yeah - radio is absolutely important to anyone who wants to listen to it, free, right off the air, Just Like God Intended, even if it's one minute a year.

I hope that between the headset type, the headset model, the fix for the headset port - that somehow this gets solved for you guys.

Wish I could be of more help, I really do.

Just like "Thunder18" said you've got to use TRRS type headsets or the radio will work like crap. At least that's been my experience. I plugged in a standard pair of "earbuds" into the phone and the radio reception was crap. Bought a cheap pair of earbud/mic combo (TRRS type) and the radio works great!!!!!!!!

End of story!

Exactly stop returning units that are good guys, get the right headphones!!!

Misinformation like this causes EVO shortages due to BS returns.

Mine also didn't work with my current headphones and then I plugged in those headphones with the 3 bands (TRRS) after reading this thread and I picked up every radio station in LA. Thanks for the info guys.
