For Time Warner Cable Users

So I called up Time Warner telling them that I wanted to reduce my service and just have the Roadrunner Broadband internet instead of the double play package (TV + Internet). I currently pay $80 for the double play and without TV, my rate would've dropped to $50 for internet only. An incentive that he gave me was to increase my internet service to Roadrunner Broadband Turbo for $0 extra for 12 months so I would be paying $80 for TV and Roadrunner Broadband Turbo instead of $60 (cost of Roadrunner Broadband Turbo by itself)... so in the end cable costs $20.

I'd thought that I would just pass this info on to other people who are on double and triple plays who don't have Turbo yet for their internet. I was really surprised that they would do something like that (although I'm sure it doesn't cost them extra since all they have to do is boost the signal to your home).

This is something that makes the service a major + in my books. They also don't charge any cancellation fees, which was something that I was really worried about having to pay if I really wanted to lose the TV.

That would really only be the case if you signed a contract. AFAIK you only sign anything when you join up w/ Verizon FiOS which will rape your pockets after the contract expires.

Lucky you! I wish Comcast would do something similar for their customers. I basically the same service you do (internet+cable) and I pay $130 a month with a promotion. The worst part is my cable signal is always crap and freezes multiple times daily, and half the time my DVR doesn't want to work. (Rewinding a show I'm watching, or it won't let me pause it even if I'm recording the show. Sometimes the recordings don't even save to my DVR or they will save and the show is completely black with no sound.)

I wish we had options around here, it's either your stuck with Comcast or you have to deal with Dish, and Directv. :/
