Forcing 4g

So I saw the thread about turning off 4g. Well personally Id like to turn it on. For some reason my phone switches to 3g even thought Im in a 4g area.

To force 4g only...

Phone > dial *#*#4636#*#* > Phone Info > Drop Down menu: LTE Mode.

Done.

It does work, but if you dont have 4g where you live, you wont switch to 3g automatically...pretty predictable, but ya...just for the record...
 
I'm in a 4G area so I've been trying this setting out for the past 5 hours or so today. If you force 4G and it drops out, you get stuck in 1X until it picks up the 4G signal again.

I've switched mine back to auto detect between 3G and 4G and everything is fine now. I'm sitting inside a brick and cement condo so I'm getting 3G right now but it switches to 4G as soon as I go outside.

Can't see a reason to force 4G, let the phone do it's thing.
