Root forget update get icarus1.1

i did both CM6 mod and CM7 mod too many bugs for me.. i just install icarus1.1 and everthing works find wifi and everything.. i just did the MMS fix i can send MMS now so im good if the update they been promise is not out yet its never comin i did what was best for my phone hopefully lol:o:(:D

well i did a test on an app Andy-83 its a T I 83 calculator and it wouldnt install on 2.1, but when i flashed cm6/7 it install and working with no problem, so im guessing 2.2 apps would not install on 2.1, plus they might dont show up in the market. On another note, when i had the chines version of 2.2 came out, some of the apps i had on icarus didnt show up on the market cause it showed my phone as c8500.

i have run both the cm mods through every loop and hoop i can think of and have found no bugs not listed on the wikis.

Video record, maps and mms on 7 and mms on 6 are the only bugs.

Latest builds of course
 
I meant overall CM7 and CM6 have alot of bugs.. CM6 when i went to camara to use it, it wouldn't work so i just when to icarus i need a camara

lol it done that from time time on the stock 2.1 too lol. The camera is a pos n so is its app lol.

what do you mean by better?

smoother performance:

dont use live wallpaper (at least not heavy ones)

get cpuboost (free) and set the widget to lock in 600mhz

if you arent using gps atm turn it off, same with synch.

disable screen animation

better battery:

don't forget to turn of that widget from cpuboost

use cpuboos to set a profile "screen off" with min and max being 240 and priority 100

set screen off and sleep times to minimum

turn off all the item in the power bar widget when not using them.

avoid battery savers and task tillers. they run constantly.

make sure your screen turns off during phone calls.

I installed CM7 and it dropped alot of my calls. Switched to CM6 thinking it had been around longer so bugs like that would be fixed, same problem. Went back to Icarus 1.1, problem solved. I loved CM7 it looked and ran great except for dropping calls. Hopefully when/if 2.2 is released for Ascend, CM6 will be perfected and I'll go back to it. But if not, Icarus is a great stable ROM and works like a dream.

Alot of your drop calls is not from cm7 or cm6...its metro, they been having alot of issues with there service lately, its up 1 minute and down the next depending on your location.

Metro is still retrofitting their 'cough' 3G to 4G LTE ;)
