Root Formatting SD Card on BACKside

Is it ok to format the SD card when you are custom ROMed? i need the memory and i have ALOT of junk on it, should i look to keep some stuff? Thanks!

I would not just format the SD card, as some app data or apps may be on there. Hook the phone or SD card up to your computer and take off what you need. Or better yet, grab a bigger SD card and just copy everything over.

I don't see why not. I'd back up all the files to your computer before though. Any program that needs a file on the SD card should recreate that file when you use the program. I'm no expert though. If it were me I'd keep .android_secure, Android, bluetooth, the image and video cache files, data, LOST.DIR... the files that came on it when you got it.
