@Angl How did your breakup go?

ok i guess. he had to work late again today so kinda ruined the plan of telling him in person and when i said the plan was "a talk" he guessed what it was. he understood where i was coming from and said we'd make better friends. maybe that was his way of saying he wanted to break up to but didnt want to be the one to do it

Lol it looks like your autocorrect is broken too

hahahahaha

Don't worry your secret is safe with me and everyone else in this thread

Plus I hear he doesn't read things in hide tags ;)

Hey don't worry you didn't scare me away I hoped of the computer to let my sister on and while she was on the computer I played a bit of xbox and yeah i will decide if I want to root or not it's tempting but I don't want to install a program on my computer that helps do that I would only consider doing it if there was another way that was safer

@Met Prime . Gingerbreak is the only "apk" which may work on gingerbread below 2.3.4 .
For 2.3.4 you need zergrush exploit which has mixed results . I dont think a exploit meant for android will work on a windows or a linux(not needed ) machine .
If you have post October update than rooting will be difficult since google has patched the exploit and currently no exploit works .sort of .

Rooting is over rated anyway .Why does anyone need root ?

Well it seems interesting and all and looks like you get to do alot more I think the process isn't what's keeping me back sense I kinda understand it but it's the method itself download this program and do this and blah blah blah but one method i heard of is to actually disable my firewall Nope! ain't gonna happen so this is where i stand and what will keep me from rooting I right now am happy with my phone as it is with go launcher and I'm thinking about getting the honeycomb theme by Urtaga just looking it up and reading about the theme so there's still plenty of things to keep my phone feeling new the beauty of android :D

Gingerbreak works on MT 2.2 as well lol. And you mean taking s-off? You don't have to take s-off, but it does make things easier in the long run. Only HTC phones have it anyways

Says a rom dev?!

As for an answer...
-Anyone who would like to expand beyond the current limits of Android on their device
-Someone who wishes to change something that is set by a system apk that you can not edit without root access
-Those people who wish to circumvent measures put in by their carrier to tether their phone via WiFi to another device without having to pay the fees as described within their contract
-Me because I get bored with things
-Someone who wishes to remove stock bloatware (carrier or OEM implemented)
-Rom devs in order to test and develop and kang

I am sure there are other reasons that my brain is failing to come up with right now...I'm just up way too late yet again for no good reason :D

I agree that you can "expand" your android reach from say 80 p.c to 95 p.c. with rooting.

But if you jump to rooting in beginning your android experience will be limited and looped to 15 p.c (the expansion ) .

There is so much to android then just rooting your device .

Okay that is true, it took me about 5 months before I rooted my OG Droid, but it took about 5 hours before I rooted the Gnex given I had to let it charge and deal with short needy people watch my kids part of the time too or else it wouldn't have taken near as long.

I'm seeing Ghost Rider 2 again today. Well this time in 3D and with a friend who is a girl.

And I blame karan for making me start reading station v3!

Lol yea it's the girl we talked about. And thanks :D
