I think most devs on all platforms try to do that...setting out to make a generic game seems kinda pointless ;)

@yeahha what kind of locale are you thinking for the rpg? I had a bit of time and thought that a cool idea was to have a town built into a hill, and the buildings would be underground. Not sure how it would fit though...

Like bag end? ;)

What about a town for the androids called junk town? Or scraperton? Of course, when I think of the name "Scraperton" I feel I've heard of that name before...

Anything can work really. I already have an idea for the town you guys will start in but there are as many towns in the game as subforums here

Okay, I actually drew up some ideas for it earlier, it was called hillside town, but that was just a working title. I'll try to describe it now that I'm at a proper keyboard.
Basically, I saw all the buildings as being built into the hill, so there would be next to no natural light from inside the buildings.
Hillside
A small community area sits at the bottom of the hills. Built into the sides of the hills are a few important areas. The first and most important being the residential area. This is a smaller area, that houses the few inhabitants of Hillside. There is also a set of stairs that weave from one level of the hill to the other, via another underground construct. (I kinda envisioned these constructs very similar to shipping containers, if anyone is interested.)

At the upper level exists the commercial region, a small inn and a shop that sell various supplies. I guess I sort of thought that this was an 'in-between' community. People who settled down between two other regions, as a rest stop. The shop and inn opened up, as did the residential area. At the bottom of the hill sits a community area, where various things could happen, this was kinda like a patio area. I thought it would be a good way for the PCs and NPCs to interact. I would also guess that some residential NPCs could set up little shops and stands in this area, to try and supplement their income. Which I suppose they would really need, something like prospecting.... They search the local area looking for valuables to sell and barter with the PCs.

Okay, so if anyone wants, I can try and upload those pics, (they are just a couple of sketches really (more like a map really), trying to put this location from my head to the computer).

Hmm... well, then, not sure if it'll work, but I did finally get it to upload... Photobucket is a real pain....

ignore any spelling errors, I know there is at least one. ;)
I think the layout is pretty self explanatory, but if it's not...
You are looking up the hill from just beyond the community area... There you see the residential area, the inn and shop, and the two stair exits. The stairs link together from the inside, kind of a weaving underground tunnel.

Pshhh.. Cain is ready. ;)

Also, I get far too much pleasure out of seeing things I 'report' getting taken care of... I feel like a puppet master*. ;) :D

*Which is, ironically, how I'm sure yeahha will feel being GM ;) j/k

So far, I think we've got a pretty well rounded group. Abjuration will likely come in handy, cancelling out other spells. Karandpr has healing spells.

I'm very curious as to what the rest of the folks will come up with.

Yeah, I was thinking of healing myself, but Karan beat me to the change. Yeah, I purposely picked what I did to round it out a bit better. I hope we can get a couple more to round the party out. There is plenty of room for them to be whatever and we would still have a solid party now. :)

I'm also getting very curious as to see how the scenario will play out. I mean, if we had a huge weakness (no healing or no defensive abilities) I'm sure yeahha would notice it - but I also don't think he'd jump right into it....

I'm sure it'd be a boss or something, and we'd retreat and find the weakness of that boss to exploit... :D

I'm getting really excited. ;)

@9to5cynic,yeahha

Have you played ,age of wonders 2 or shadow magic ?
It's a turn based strategy with many rpg elements.
Some maps take more than a day to play  .
