Any yes, this is far more complex than ask...ask...ask ;) :D

My cat thinks I am crazy for laughing so much because of that :D

Letting someone else roll the dice? That seems fun.

We are sticking with the post ID roll method, easier and everyone can see what you roll, still seems pretty random.

@Yeahha

Mind clearing this up for me from the AFRPG
Where is that number, is it in the permalink?

Post Points (PP) is the rewards system it isn't in the permalink but you earn PP as you play. I will provide you with the amount you get after battles.

Game is posted http://androidforums.com/forum-game...locked-until-i-am-done-posting-all-rules.html lets try to blow up that thread err discuss the game there and keep this thread a little less nerdtastic ;):D

@Yeahha, so with the non-magical skills, how many do you start with, just one right?

Also, how about we agree that there is no recursive role playing... ;)

I'm not trying to be rude I just don't want to type this again

For starting characters you start with skills equal to twice an attribute of your choice, once chosen the attribute will be your character’s primary attribute.

Those points are for combat/noncombat/magic. When you start you can have a maximum of 12 skills if you max your attribute of choice out to 6.

lol I wonder how many times that has actually happened only once in a game I was running and twice in a game I was playing...

Ahh okay. So lots of skills... ;)

Pwewhhh.... think I'm done with my character. Hope it's all up to snuff. :P

I enjoy a bit of magic but, I want a character that's strong, agile, and smart. So, if magic user has that then count me in!

I think you could definitely make that character. If you only want a bit of magic, you could do have only a few points in the magic areas (I'd have to actually check the rules on that one, I didn't want magic so I just skimmed those areas ;))

If you don't want magic at all then go with human ;)

Smart by ways of intelligence is going to lend itself towards magic and you will be limited as to how much you can put in it if you are not a magic user.

Btw, I love rolling characters :)
Mine is almost done, just waiting on some clarification before posting...
Afrpfg question...
When making a magic user to have the conjuring 2 skill how many skill points are needed? Is it 2 total or 3? Like 1 point to get skill level 1 and 2 to go from 1 to 2? Or just 2 to get to level 2?

As far as human arcane magic, would it be better to just get the general skill and only level the subspecialties, or do you think that is unbalanced. I want a human for RP purposes but find they seem very gimped in arcane magic as you have to spend way more to level the universal skill and the subschool as well. That seems like it will be unbalanced (against them) later on. Would making the purchase of the general skill cost 2-3 points but then only have to level the specific school after that purchase?

As far as spell casting, we pick the skills we know. Are the spells we use generic and based off of just the skill(and school of magic) or do we need to learn specific spells as well?

Say I pick alteration, am I able to use many different types of spells that disguise/alter characteristics and the effectiveness is based on skill level and base stat? Or do I learn individual spells within the school?

Good morning everyone! The weekend is on the downhill side :(

To get from conjuring level 1 to level 2 it cost 2 skill points. To get to level 3 from level 2 it costs 3. Basically the new level will be how many skill points you need to spend.

I actually designed it unbalanced on purpose. Humans are not an arcane race they created one that became more powerful than they could hope to be (magic wise). I couldn't find any other way to make android an appealing race;) but I had to stick to my backstory to make sense and make a way for humans to use arcane magic.

Side note, when I had all skill points based on intelligence arcane spellcasters would have been unstoppable after raising their intelligence to about 10

Generic, try to stay within the magic schools I included. Spells I will figure out how difficult they will be to actually do and give a difficulty level. This was the most simple I could think of

I feel for you on that. I wish my scheduled wasn't so screwed up working until midnight makes it difficult to enjoy the first part of the weekend.

Well, I can see giving android an advantage, but that seems a bit much. My back story fits a human better but the character idea is definitely a magic user. I might be able to make things work.

What do the Androids look like. Robotic? Or more like Data from ST:TNG? I will PM some of my back story ideas and see if they are ok anyway.

I don't want magic users to be OP, but don't really like the idea of having to pick a race I don't want in order to have a character that isn't gimped.

OK, I like that.
What school would like an invisible force to knock someone down be? Kinda like the Star Wars force, but not as generic. Evocation?

I'm debating making that edit now. I don't think it will hinder that much. I was looking at humans more like a jack of all trade arcane magic user while androids are more like the wizards. With the same stats the human would have higher health, androids should be able to have spell advantage, it was either what I did or give android's more spells per day and I didn't like the way that graphed out since it looked like they would own everyone after a while.

Androids come in all shapes and forms, some look human, some look like humanoid robots, others look like robots that are just thrown together with parts that seem to work the best for them, and yes there are some that like some old 2D program called "Dr. Who" and have made themselves look like Daleks. Part of the reason some people don't like Androids because anyone could be an android and hide it so well others couldn't tell ;)

Evocation would be the best fitting school

Ok, my idea would work with a humanoid android. It might actually work better that way. So I need to redo my character sheet.

Androids are/were humanoids to begin with before Android OS dude messed the definitions >_> <_< .

P.S .
Healing is the only use of Divine Magic Skill .
Some More love there :p
Also the will power skills >_> leave lot to be desired

Android race in AFRPFG = generic term for non-human sentient beings ;) They can look pretty much however you wish.

The noncombat skiils are not limited to what I documented that just what I could think of I put some more uses for the divine spells in the thread. With the nature spell you could summon animals. There are plenty of uses for the spells

Gotta make breakfast at noon :D
