There are two files with a badge and star in the middle.
First one says

second
temp

What are those for and is VZ throttling me? I have noticed my 3g being slower than it was several months ago.

In the data/system/throttle folder I have one file named 499063743 and the other is Temp.

If they throttle at the server level (on VZW's side) there is nothing you can do about it, you'll be throttled no matter what you do to your phone.

I have the same two files ( different numbers) and I have never used the throttle hack. They have to be VZW system files to control your 3g. I don't think it's a throttler though. MAy just be the system files that control your 3g.
